Just got the word:
It's official. O'Reilly Raceway Park, formerly known as Indianapolis Raceway Park, the grand-daddy of all drag strips and home of the largest drag racing event in the world, the U.S. Nationals, is opening one week early for a PRIVATE SRT-only drag racing event!!
Details:

March 22, 2008
Gates open at 9:00am
Drag racing starts at 10:00am, and we have the track for six hours.
Drag racing stops at 4:00pm.
Cost: $50 per car
Limited to 100 cars total.
Only Modern Mopar SRT's and 5.7L Hemi-powered LX's are eligible.
So some SRT-8's, SRT-4's, SRT-6's, SRT-10 Trucks and Vipers.
This is being called the SRT Shoot-out, but our 5.7L friends are included.
This event is a not for profit event. Any excess money from entries and sponsors will be returned in the form of prize money.

You'll notice that the first event of the season is March 29th. They are opening one week early just for us. This is a true private event not open to the public.

Great opportunity for an EARLY run in this part of the country.

This will be perfect racing weather.
UPDATE:
ALL SRT vehicles are invited. We want to see the best and fastest of all of them.
SRT-4's, Vipers, SRT-10's, and SRT-8's.
I just hung up with the track. We're first of the season, and the track will be brand newly prepped from end to end.
Already have 30 signed up.
Need 60 TOTAL. Capped at 100 MAXIMUM.
So please - if you're within range of Indy (250 miles or so is a day trip) come on out!
I could also use help getting the word out in the Viper/SRT-10/SRT-4 world. So please spread the word and help me invite your other SRT friends.

Aaron will run your credit card (any major card) for $50, and e-mail a receipt.
To track this, Aaron needs to know:
Your name
Your screen name
What kind of car
e-mail address to send receipt.
He'll track who's paid and give me updates. You can also send me a PM, or post in the thread once you've made your payment.
There are no payments at the gate. As a closed event, you just arrive with your receipt and go through tech.

PPP NEWS UPDATE:

This is going to be a VERY special event for me. For Valentines Day, my wifes gift to me was a promise to race me at the March 22nd event. Essentially my wife has never raced. Never even considered it so this is going to be a big day for me. She will be driving our #46 Plum Craaaaazy PPP modified SRT-8. Come out and be part of or just see what is going to be a great event!
