Do larger wheels effect the car's Odometer?

I changed my wheels from the OEM 17" to 22"s.

Since I didn't alter my computer at all, did changing wheels effect my Odometer's perception of miles?

A larger wheel rotates slower than a smaller wheel of the same speed.

I don't think you should have a problem.

I have heard of problems with 24s, but even then, rarely.

26s; however, you may run into problems.

I'm not 100% sure, but someone should chime in with a more accurate answer.

Goodluck.

no, not exactly. it depends on what size tire/rim combo you are using. just changing the rims is not the important part. tire size is. yes, you step up on rim size , but surely you went down on the aspect ratio of the tire. so its overall tire diameter that is the important thing. use a tire calculator and compare old to new.

heres an example: 275/45 20 o.d 29.8 -----275/60 17 o.d 30

thats 2 tenths of an inch. so overall tire revs per mile is pretty close. not enough to make a difference. you could change that much from normal tire wear and tire pressure.

as kidrock mentioned, as long as you kept the rolling radius within spec you shouldnt have a problem.
