Ported throttle body

I am looking at purchasing a Modern Muscle CNC Ported High Velocity Throttle Body. It suppose to be a direct bolt on. The advertising says that it will deliver 9 RWHP and 12 lbs trq. No modifications need to be done. Has anyone used or installed one or had their own ported---does it need WOT programming? I do have a Predator. I am trying to choose between a Borla cat back or this throttle body mod---what do you suggest. Thanks for the help.

To get the best out of any mod like what you are wanting to do, you should always (IMO) edit the PCM meaning you need a Predator at some stage.

Now it all depends on how serious you also want to get. Each of those items on their own won't give you the ground breaking power you are looking for.

If you are going to get just 1 item, I would suggest an RDP cat back system or Corsa cat back system. If you plan on doing intake and throttle body later on, I would suggest purchasing a Predator after the exhaust, the CAI (RDP also stock these with great results), then Throttle body.

Its not so much about how much power you will get with each addition (of course you want the most), it is about obtaining the maximum hp you can when you have complemented each mod with the other.

If you are unsure still speak with Dynosteve. He has tuned MANY lx's now and will kow the best combo's to go for. Good luck.

I would agree. Go with the Cat-back first.

even...

even the modded folks are having trouble finding the power promised by the big TB's.

Get a CAI and Predator and pick up some real HP and big time driveability gains.

They were yes that is correct, however RDP (dynosteve) has been able to see positive gains with a 90mm addition on a few 426's he has tuned. Nett gains are ranging from an extra 20-40hp.

On stock motors with no other mods and tune - NO WAY IMO!
