Question stock cold air intake modification?

It's definitely not assured to be colder than the air taken in by the stock airbox, but the flow increase will very likely outweigh that by enough to make a tidy power gain. The dyno numbers quoted me were around 14rwhp, which seems about right.

That sort of intake design (sealed to the hood) is very popular these days. I run something similar (metal divider, not sealed to the fender well) in my 470rwhp '03 Cobra with very positive results.
Did anyone try removing stock air intake(eardrum) from the fender well and saw off the resonators(water container shaped) or just plug them with a rubber or foam or silcon in order to get a true stock cold air intake?? i know i will once i recieve my 300c this week here in kuwait.
