Ok Air Hammer guys, what is the diffence between Air Hammer Gen 1 and the one that you see for sale on this forum? I looks a little different but does it still work just as good. I noticed that it has a white filter instead of a red one? Any info would be appreciated. Pic attached of the one I am talking about.
The improvements have been smoother manufacturing, welds, etc., maybe a little (very slight) change to the curvature getting into the Throttle Body. The white filter is an dry-flow, oil-less filter with better filtering specs than the old oiled filter.
I would say with great confidence that it works just as good, if not better.

In love with my first wife & first car ('68 Charger) ... still have the wife
but now there's the Heritage Edition and a Magnum SRT8!
So the Gen 1 that I have a pic of is oil-less? Or are the new ones oil less. If you have a chance to by a AFE stage 2 or an AirHammer which one would you pick? Thanks.
changes in the Gen 1 thru whatever where primarily changes in manufacturing (both technique and the back end manufacturer) and the "generations" are used to determine which back end company did the work. There were slight changes to the materials and as Tim said the elbow that attached to the TB.
all Air Hammers are now made by one back end manufacturer (who is also a part owner of the company)..
between AFE and A.H. - I'd take the Air Hammer all day long..

that picture looks like someone updated the filter on an older unit.. no Air Hammers are made of metal any longer, they are all Carbon Fiber, and the Gen 1 Carbon Fibers were made by a company in California, Gen 2 and newer (not sure what revision they are on) are all made by the new partners CF company back east.
Ok another stupid questions. How do you take care of an oil-less filter. I have only dealt with K&N oil filterss. Are they as simple as just blowing them clean everyonce in a while and then reinstalling or is there something more complicated.
Also the dry filter can go on any Air Hammer, so it really has nothing to do with Gen I or any Gen for that matter... it's just a change to a better and less maintance filter.
