thought this would be a good place to ask...

since we are talking exhaust mod's.

I brought my car in from Michigan here to San Diego...
as a result, the California DMV requires a smog check...

passed with flying colors...
took a bit because it was a 2006 and not in the "book"...

the concern I have about playing around with the exhaust is the legislation (actually the law in 2008) that will go into effect on emissions...

the guy told me that my car has the new "technology" for measuring emissions and the technology to transfer it to the "monitoring" stations that they will have throughout the state (mainly at a stoplight), now the guy thinks it won't be until 2010 that the monitoring devices will be in place...

so what happens is, if you go over the allowed emissions, you set off the monitor and it notes your car is the one that did it, and sends you a notice in the mail to get your car within limits...

so I thought I would through this out there...
as our 2006 SRT-8's are equipped with this technology...
anyone know different or care to expand on this???

@!@$^%!#!$#$#@^$@%@&%$!@&#&^&%@%$-ING BIG BROTHER!!!

All I know is that the mods you install should have a carb number to prove the can pass. However, I think your conern is about current mods that pass now that won't pass in the future right?

I'd call the manufacturer and find out what they say.

You do have a valid concern I'll admit.

EXACTLY...
not worried about now...
but what is going to happen in the future...
don't really want to keep the "old" exhaust around in the garage until 2008 or 2010...
know what I mean???

Are they getting stricter with emissions at the time the sensors are supposed to be put in place? (i.e. lower threshold for NOX etc...)

Or just putting in the sensors?

If so, then I would assume everything is fine with current carb certified mods.

145? I'm dissapointed....I thought you'd be the first to join the 160MPH+ club.

Yes, they're only good for 20 points, but still fun practice.

Liberal suit wearing DC EPA lobbyists are my favorite targets.

Look out Nader.
