K&N intake on a 3.5

Hi,
I drove a 200 mile trip all highway this weekend and got 19.7 mpg on my 3.5. While visiting my family my brother gives me a K&N intake kit for the 3.5, so i slap it on then decide to check the mileage on the ride home to see if there is any noticeable difference in mpg. well i got 22.3 mpg on the return trip. both trips used 89 octane and cruise set at 78 mph. with only occasional 90+ to pass a truck or two. Anyone else have mileage numbers in thier 3.5??? if so please post them so i can see if im near teh other 3.5's out there. hope this is useful to someone.

I currently get about 21 mpg on the average...combined city and highway driving (stock intake w/ 'Zoomers' custom dual exhaust system), but since I haven't driven it all that much, the mpg might even get better over time once the motor is actually 'broken in'.

Pyle It, Did you remove the air silencer??? just wondering because I'm going to remove mine to get more air flow... I to have installed K&N intake and I have Zommer dual exhaust, I will be ordering JetChip stage-2 soon... As far as gas mileage I have not really paid attention to it because its not my daily driver, I only drive it on my day off or sometimes not even that. I bought my 300 in Dec. 2004 and I only got 3200 miles on it...

Mr.DJ, Do you have JetChip installed??? and If so how is it??? please let me know thanks....

Six,
I would be interested in a Jet chip. I have seen them for around $230-240 or so if we could beat that by a bit im all for it. Any other 3.5's out there chime in if you are interested as well. How the ride go w/o the silencer???

Pyle It, I did not notice any difference with the removal of the air silencer, today I installing a PVC pipe and 90 degree elbow(1'3"x3"x3" - LxWxH, give or take an inch or so on the length, all purchased at Home Depot)at the bottom I faced the elbow opening right behined fog lights, because thats the only opening I see for air to come thru from the front, may drill out some holes on the fog inserts to get more air flow, I wraped duct tape around the PVC pipe and wedge it between hole opening to get a snug sold fit, top of the PVC pipe is right under K&N airfilter for max air, sorry I don't have a dig. camera to take pic. (bummer)I also don't have a computer at da pad (double bummer) I have to sneak around at work to use the computer. I will test it out later and let you know how it runs... I PM'd John at socalmotorsports and left him a message and my phone number to call me, he has not PM'd me back or called me yet, as soon as he contacts me I will let you know...

Hello All,

We would be more than glad to get a group buy going on the Jet Stage I or II chips. I haven't researched the following this product has. Most group buys start at a minimum order of 10. Anyone interested just PM me or Tony (SCMSTONY). We can go from there.

Attn six7one: Please check your PM Box, I PM'd you almost a week ago.

Thank you in advance and have a great rest of the weekend.

John
