Falken Eurowinters on Police Rims
I just had 4 Falken winter tires 225-60r18 (hs439) mounted on 18'' rims, on my 2012 300s Hemi. I was looking to get a good winter tire without sacrificing too much dry pavement grip...I live in a large city where streets are plowed often.
I purchased from discount tire direct for $540, and am awaiting a $100 dollar rebate to get me at $440
First impression, these tires are louder than my stock firehawks, but not as loud as typical winter tires (winterforce for example). They feel stable and sure-footed on dry pavement, no difference in ride quality, and not squishy as soft as most "snow" tires feel. When you push them, obviously the skinnier 225 dont grip as well as the 245 stock wheels. They break loose fairly easily when you go WOT from a standstill, and scream a little when you push them on the twisties...but you gotta push them pretty hard.
These are definitely performance winter tires...I am reluctant to call them a snow tire based on looks, they are basically agressive looking all seasons that use a softer rubber compound, and are siped. I will report after some snow...but right now simply on dry pavement, they have been just fine. I do not expect them to work as well as winterforce or any other expensive brand in deep snow, but these are a good discount performance winters so far.
I would give them a 8/10 for a daily driver - not including snow yet.
