Newest Supporting Vendor Announcement - Power Ported Performance

(My apologies up front for the lengthy, but well worth it read...)

To quote the announcement on one of the other sites...

”Welcome to one of our own who has really put his heart and soul into our community. In an aftermarket that is quickly becoming flooded with just about every option you can imagine, these guys have come up with a unique approach.”

Jeremy Steinman (aka XCITsNU)
Power Ported Performance
Forums user name XCITsNU

performance@powerported.com

Offerings:
Power Ported Performance delivers state of the art CNC 5 axis Ported Heads with 5 angle valve jobs, Ported 6.1L Intakes, and Intake to Head thermal barrier gaskets AND most importantly the option to utilize our unique Do-It-Yourself Installation Kits designed not only for the seasoned mechanic, but especially for those with little to no experience working on cars.

These kits will give you the parts, tools and know how to instantly transform you into a comfortable and knowledgeable weekend warrior garage mechanic.

Introductions and why Power Ported Performance is different:

Hello my fellow LX owners and enthusiasts,

I am not your typical vendor; I have been around the LX related forums since July of 2004 and I am admittedly an addicted Modern Mopar LX owner (Two 300c SRT-8s) who is hooked on maximizing the performance of our vehicles.

The company I've formed, in conjunction with Indy Cylinder Heads, is Power Ported Performance. Our website is still in development, but will be up soon. We wanted to make you aware of the exciting options we have been working on since last year and the beginning of this year.

As an LX vehicle owner I realized there was a gap between what was available and what was affordable and thus began the quest to start a company that could bridge that gap by offering safe, affordable and powerful aftermarket accessories for the modern Mopar enthusiast. Driven by a desire to provide these solutions, the idea for Power Ported Performance was born; to bring affordable performance bolt on parts to our community of automotive enthusiasts in a modern and very unique way.

But first let me introduce myself and then I will explain what "modern and unique" will actually mean to you, the consumer.

For those who do not already know me, my name is Jeremy Steinman and I am much better known as XCITsNU on all LX related forums. For those that know me, they will vouch not only my integrity, but for my long standing, sincere and honest interest in our community and its development.

Why am I starting a company you might ask? It all comes from the desire to deliver high horse power solutions that will not only be cost effective (not a wallet killer) but hopefully will also pass the significant other test. More on that later...

With Power Ported Performance, we provide a way for us all to get the most out our investment in performance accessories at a price point that is realistic and within reach. I am doing this not to change career paths, as I have a very successful sales and marketing career in the software industry and have been doing it for 15 years. The price points I am offering as the distributor of Indy Heads gives me only a very small margin of return and honestly it will take years to achieve a return on investment for the close to $10,000 I have put into this endeavor so far; gathering a stock of Heads and Intakes for core swap outs and the costs of delivering a professional start up for you to transact with. Therefore I am in this to establish a solid, quality, and enduring reputation over a long term period.

Using my own $48,000 300c SRT-8 as a test vehicle, I have spent countless days and hours at the track, at the dyno, installed the Heads & Intake myself on my 300c SRT-8, Heads on Grinners 5.7 Magnum (thanks buddy for your faith in me) and weeks spent on day trips over the last 5 months to Indy Heads in Indianapolis to collaborate on the development of our joint product offerings. The results will truly speak for themselves.

Through this tremendous effort, I wanted to make sure that we were not only developing the best products, but that the information provided would show proven results at the Dyno and at the Track.

At the time I started the research and effort into this endeavor, there were very few options and none of them felt very attainable and affordable to me as a total package and that is sad, as I make a fairly decent living. In the interim, there has been some great strides in the performance options being offered and I am excited to see that more affordable options are available from some other reputable sources. I want to take this opportunity to extend a greeting out to Stu and the other guys at HEAT for the great work they are doing. They represent the heart felt sentiments I do in delivering integrity, honesty and enthusiasm for how they conduct their business and interactions with our community to deliver quality products.

Now let me tell you why we are different and why we are an affordable, interesting and viable alternative source for your ported Heads and other performance parts. Here is some background history and insight into the pedigree that comes with the Power Ported Performance parts.

History and Pedigree:

In early 2006 I (XCITsNU) formed a friendship that has lead to an exciting and exclusive distributorship with Russ Flagle, co-owner and President of Indy Cylinder Head. Indy Cylinder Head is extremely well known and respected in the drag race and especially the Mopar world; setting winning track records for top fuel legends such as Jeff Hurst, multi time winner of the quick 32 Races, all the way to world wide weekend warriors tearing up their local tracks like myself. I was recently at the Indy Raceway Park at an event (Mopar at the Track) and saw several Indy Cylinder Head sponsored Alcohol cars running in the 6's at over 2000 HP!!!

Through Power Ported Performance, Indy Cylinder Head delivers 35+ YEARS of cylinder head experience to the modern Mopar ride. Russ Flagle has really invested into giving us the best in the latest technology within his multi-million dollar CNC Porting and engine crafting facility. The million$ Indy has invested in the latest 5 axis port and 5 angle valve CNC Technology, with two (yes, two) $500,000 dollar 5 axis CNC porting booths, plus million$ more on the rest of their CNC Head porting, and block machining equipment, provides the absolute best environment for creating the maximum performance out of ported Heads.

Indy Head's success has come from a simple principle: create the correct intake port volume to reach the highest flow velocity to generate the most safe and reliable horsepower.

"Truly effective port volume can not be achieved without creating not only the needed port volume but also the velocity of airflow to achieve the ultimate result, MORE HORSEPOWER!"

"Indy continues to drive innovation and leading edge performance gains in great strides for the aftermarket performance enthusiast time after time with new products and fresh ideas that expand their product lines and the product choices that are now available to you through Power Ported Performance."

So check out more details on what we have to offer and Flow Bench numbers in Post #2...

**Current LX (Chrysler 300, Charger & Magnum) Offerings**

Power Ported Performances' newest product line offers not just the Ported Heads for the 5.7L engines, and the Ported Heads and Intakes for the 6.1L SRT-8 engines, but also an optional Do-It-Yourself kit that will include not only the gaskets and bolts, but all the tools: sockets, wrenches, extensions, torque wrenches, lubricates, etc., (excluding a car jack and jack stands) necessary to do the swap out and MOST importantly a full DIY installation DVD Video (available in the next few weeks: Grinners editing them now) walk-through of how to swap out your parts with torque specs and easy to follow instructions. This sets us apart from everyone else out there.

The videos were shot by our local Cinematic Video expert, Grinner (Creator of Moddin Art) in High Definition and each kit will also include a copy of the Pilot episode on DVD of Moddin Art!!! Again these kits are designed for those who are completely unexperienced with working on cars and also for those with decades of experience. With a little patience, about a day or two of wrenching and you will be able to feel proud of being able to say you did it all yourself. This will save you anywhere from $800 to $1600 on installation costs alone and makes the Power Ported Performance Heads and DIY kit that must have option for your performance gains.

Now back to the comment about passing the significant other test and why I could justify this to my wife
.

Essentially the SRT-8's at best can get 20 MPG on the freeway and 16 MPG in the City. After installing the Ported Heads and Intake here are my fuel economy results. (note: these are MY results... your lead foot may produce different numbers )

City Mileage Average - 17.1 MPG

Dyno Numbers

5.7L Dynos:
Grinners post here talks to his mods and gains.
http://www.lxforums.com/board/showpo...5&postcount=13

6.1L Dynos:

If I would have been given time for more than two dyno pulls I think I could have gotten the 4th gear pull better, since I had a very large drop off in HP at 5600 RPM's

This shows what a full run without any HP drop offs will produce. This run was the only one in 3rd Gear.

Here is the torque results. Very happy with these numbers as well...

Here is a collage of differences between stock and ported:

Pricing Options:

5.7L CNC Port Heads:

$1,295.00 (includes disassembly, recondition & reessembly and CNC porting, with 5 angle Valve Jobs

Note: there will be a $800 core charged to your credit card ONLY if the stock units are not returned within 14 days of you receiving your shipped order (you will NOT be charged a core charge unless you do not return your stock Heads or the Heads are received damaged or unusable). You will be required to sign and fax a charge authorization form, acknowledging your acceptance of this policy and consenting to these charges, should you fail to return the your stock core units to Power Ported Performance with the 14 day grace period.

6.1L CNC Ported Heads and Intake:

$2,045.00 (includes disassembly, recondition & reessembly and CNC porting and port matching with 5 angle Valve Job)

Note: due to the very restricted and unavailability of the 6.1L heads for reorder, there will be a $1,800 (Heads) + $700 (Intake) core charged to your credit card ONLY if the stock units are not returned within 14 days of you receiving your shipped order (you will NOT be charged a core charge unless you do not return your stock Heads / Intake or the Heads / Intake are received damaged or unusable). Verification of available credit limit will occur, but only the purchased items will be charged at shipping time. Jeremy

this is pretty good!! have you added anything else since the heads?

ie; would cai and exhaust add to the gains noticably and what if sts turbo were added?

basically i would want to do the heads, add a cai and add the sts turbo. What kinda strain on the engine components would i see?

Jeremy,

The gains are sweet and a little extra mpg is icing on the cake.

How much extra is it for the DIY kit?

Thanks 300onDueces,

The DIY Kit is going to be around $445.00 and will be well worth it. You will have all the right socket wrenches, sockets and wrenches to work on your LX, even after the install, so its an added bonus. For the install you will have the gaskets, bolts, lubricants for the pushrods, rocker arms and catch cans for the fluids; Oil & Coolants, along with some other really cool surprises we are including.

The average cost of having an installer do it, someone you don't know, working on your car... is anywhere from $800 up to $1600, depending on who you know. This is a steal and you get to boast that you did it yourself. This video DVD covers all the do's and don't, and step by step instructions you can watch.

It's exciting when you begin to think about it.
