Although HEAT Performance and Power Ported Performance were not able to run together yesterday, it was still a fun day at the track despite the rain... Even as Kelly made a tremendous affort to get to the track on time, he wasn't able to get to the track before the races were over. I met Kelly and Nathan Friday night at Kelly's and we took rides in each others car. They have a very powerful set up on the Maggie with a 2800 stall converter and an aggresive cam that would have likely had me watching tail lights in the 1/4 mile, but the whole point was that it was going to be cool to see the 426's running together. Again I built mine for streetablity using the Stock cam, and ultra durable components so it is tamer than what Kelly put together, but of couse there is always the option to go more radical.
At any rate, by the time they arrived GODSPEED had already taken the winning title of the Gamblers Race for no-box (for those not in the know, this means that the launch off the 1/4 mile line isn't managed by electronics to make sure that the reaction time is consistent and as close to perfect as possible every time). 1st race, 1st track win. New HEMI, whipping Old HEMI.
It was a very cool day at the track here in Texas yesterday no-the-less. I hope Kelly may be able to find time to come out, but he has his daughter today, so it might not be possible.
Anyway, here is the video... Keep in mind, I am still running VERY VERY Rich Air/Fuel ratios which is kiling a lot of power. This is being worked out, but not in time for this track winning experience. I will be racing today (Sunday) too.
I want to thank Alan Farmer for his racing experience behind the wheel.
