P3 & CTS 426: GODSPEED breaks into the 12.3's on street tires!!!

Well, I decided I was going to drive my car today. I dialed in this morning at 12.78. Stupid me, now I just had to buy back for Breaking Out! LOL

I couldn't be more happy with the performance of this engine, even at 10.6:1 A/F ratios it can still put down the power.

Here are the conditions. Everyone was at the booth, so no-one was filming this run. Of course we didn't expect it to perform the way it did on these street tires.

Engine temp around 160-170 degrees by the time I was done with my 10 seconds burnout.

Here is the weather conditions today:

Versus yesterdays weather conditions:

How to Drag Race these cars: I burned out by auto shifting into 1st gear and revving up to about 4-5K RPM's for about 10 seconds, then chirped the tires (dry hopped it) to clean them off and staged, revved up to 1500-1700 RPM's, lit the second yellow by inching forward (a little drag racing best practice for our cars), then just dropped the hammer.

I was up against a Magnum SXT and he was gone off the line for a good 5-6 seconds before they dropped the lights down the pole for me to go. I knew I was going to break out a little, just because of how it felt going down the track, but I didn't expect this on these tires...

What a great run, Jeremy! A good set of drag radials and you'll be into the 11s for sure.

Kudos Jeremy. Many Props. I don't know if drag radials would help much with a 1.79 60' already. Don't you have 11" widened stock wheels? What tires are you running on them? Do you have a reflashed TCM, or just the B&G Stage II? How about the Quaife? Inquiring minds want to know?

I think a bunch of us will be hitting 11's soon, even without DA correction.

I think they helped definately, but nothing compared to what Drag Radial's would do for me. I do have the widened rims on the rear. The tires are 295/45/20's.

I do have the TCM, but have not installed it (not yet programmed to my VIN). I am running the B&G Stage 2 Flash. No Quaife, but its something I would consider.

Can't wait to help as many people as I can hit the 11's.

Who's ready for heart pounding torque for their 5.7 & 6.1?

Widened rims. I was wondering how you were getting that low 60'. I'd like to see that MPH a little higher myself. What exactly are your mods? And, how much is your ported head exchange?
