Hi just a little confused about the $10,000 core charge, maybe I am a simple canadian, are we talking $13,693.00 plus my current 6.1 Hemi or are we talking $13,693.00 without my 6.1 Hemi, so if I send my 6.1 Hemi and $3,693.00 I get a 426 Hemi!!! or do you want $13,693.00 and $10,000 if I keep my 6.1 Hemi? Are you saying that my current 6.1 Hemi is worth $10,000?

Please help your confused simple canadian, eh I have to work in Kilometers, do you know how often I divide by 1.61 and multiply by .6214! to get miles! Every fricking time, I see 171 it comes out 275.185.... km! Thank God for the digitally working EVIC speedo!

Hello thank you for the question.

For a fully qualified shop, plan on about 16-18 hours of labor for the Crate motor, and about 20-22 hours of labor for the short block, plus Ported Heads / Intake route.

See here for a few other good questions.

Thanks for the great question. The first number does not include the core charge, which would be $10,000 for the fully prepped 426 block or a combined core charge of $3,200 for a short block, Heads and Intake. See below for a similar question answered on 300cforums.

We will also be offering an economy 426 using 5.7L heads later in 2007, so there will be some upgrade options for the 5.7 crowd to get to the 426 and of course there is always the option of a 392 Stroker, which comes in at $5,672.00 for a short block outright purchase. The block isn't worth the shipping costs to send it back so Outright is the only option for the 392 Short blocks. We also have a 392 Long Block for $8,945.00 plus a $2,000.00 core charge. It DOES NOT include the Oil Pan & Pick Up, Intake and Fuel System, Wiring Harness & Sensors, Front Cover & DRives, Valve Covers & Coils, or a Balancer. Hopefully this helps shed some light on the options for the 5.7 crowd.

Thank you for the great questions. Essentially a complete 6.1L engine is almost as easy to get as a boulder from the moon, or the winning lottery numbers before the draw. In other words, its almost impossible to get a full engine assembly. Believe me, we have been gathering them since April in anticipation of this release and are fortunate to have what we do have, in order to offer a core exchange program that will benefit you. With a core, we can install a 426 in roughly 2 days and send you back on the road happily trying to keep from exceeding the speed limit, while giggling uncontrollably at the thought of the launch from next red light.

The price for a 426 Stroker Crate motor is the $13k USD plus the $10k USD core charge, which will be refunded when your engine assembly is returned undamaged and is verified as such. This price also includes a engine dyno of your new Stroker Motor.

The reason the core charge is so high is because we / you cannot get the individual parts to put a fully assembled engine together, nor can we/ you now get a fully assembled engine already put together due to the very recent (last 30 days) full lock down by DCX on 6.1L components.

The more economical route is to get the short block at $5,697.00, and the ported Heads/Intake for $2,965 for a total of $8,662.00 (plus the combined $3,200 core charges) and get the 426 Windage Tray for $150, the 426 cometic Head Gaskets for $199 and reuse the stock balancer. Then pay the installation to have the front of the engine switched over with all your sensors and the Stroker components assembled and TA DA! You've got yourself a 426 Stroker for less money.

There are a few other areas to consider to fuly round out this package like the 426 PCM Flash for $695.00 and the larger Injectors for $495.00 but essentially the injectors are 42 lbs, so if you can source them cheaper and trust that they are flow matched then you can probalby save some money there too.

Hope this helps clarify things and thanks again for the great question.

Best Regards,

Jeremy Steinman

I made a mistake on the 5.7L Head pricing and wanted to let people know the price has been adjusted.

Great work you have done! Love those rods and crank!

What was the HP rating on the 426 stroker motor? Do you have a dyno data sheet?

Gawd this is beautiful
