Not allowed a courtesy car?

Just took my 300c for the water in the transmission problem, and was told that Chrysler won't pay for a courtesy car because I didn't buy extra warranty called a "service contract".

I figured if I'm leasing this car, and it's stuck in the shop because of Chrysler's fault, they could at least give me a courtesy vehicle. It was a $25 cab ride home.

Has anyone ever heard of this? Specifically in Canada, is this Chrysler's policy? Honda and Toyota have always lent a vehicle for free.

In the US, the policy is to give 300C customers a courtesy car.

That policy does not exist in Canada. I don't think Ford or GM give out cars if you are in for warranty work.

Keep in mind, if Toyota built the 300C (and developed the technology for it instead of Mercedes) you would have paid at least $10,000.00 CDN more for your car.

Well i also just took my car in and they sent me to enterprise around the corner and gave me a Chevy Silverado (big truck) and its covered under my insurance.
I dont see why they would do that.

The dealership I went to made it clear during purchase that my particular dealership does not supply a courtesy car...Yucca Valley.

Well, on the other side of the 'I-10' the policy is totally opposite. As a matter of fact, I believe that I even received some sort of paperwork from DCX actually outlining the program...now, if I can only find it. My Chrysler dealer will utilize the Enterprise Rent-A-Car facility located just down the street...whenever the need might arise.

I have an 05 300, and it's part of the deal in the US anyway.

The dealer doesn't provide the car, Enterprise does. It's part of the Premium care package given on the 300's. I got it in the mail shortly after purchase, and it's kept in my glove box. I always have it in hand when dropping off the car, and Enterprise is there to 'pick me up' - the dealer gives them a PO for the cost and all is good.

I have ALWAYS gotten a loaner when I've brought the car in, the 300 and the Pacifica supply loaner vehicles if the car is in getting work done to it, not if it's just maintence though. I do get one when I drop it off for maintence, but that is because I purchased an extended warranty that also covers my maintence on the car for 36K miles.

I would complain if they sent you home in a cab, and you car required repair work.. It's worth a call or at least an email to Chrysler corp. explaining what happened and how you were disappointed with the fact you had to call a cab to get home.

As part of my extended service contract, DC will pay up to $35/day for a rental car. Since Enterprise is right next door, I usually go there and I usually end up with a car that is about $40-$45/day. Also, the rental car coverage is ONLY if the service will involve an overnight stay.

Wow, this sure is going to be a change for my dad. Back when we used to take the car I now drive (MB we got new back in 1985) we would always get a free Mercedes loaner, even if the work was only going to last a few hours and the car wasn't under warranty. Same with the BMW he got in 1998, both in and out of warranty, if it takes more than 2 hours you get a free loaner (though not always a BMW). Though maybe it's because we are in the Washington, DC area and these people expect a lot? I guess we should find out what the Chrysler dealerships polcy is.
