First Walmart oil change... NEVER AGAIN!!!

So while I was at Walmart today I decided to have my oil changed. No big deal right? $54 for full synthetic Mobil1. Normally I'd do it myself but its 7 deg. outside. Well when all was said and done I paid and met the tech outside. I said thanks and went to jump in when he stopped me and said "I need to talk to you inside". Chills went down my spine. I walked inside where he... handed me my antenna. Wtf. Terrified and looking at the ground he explains that the door was down lower then he thought when backing out and snapped the antenna off. I looked at my beloved 300 and pictured what could have happened. I smiled and said "accidents happen, it could have been worse" and patiently waited for the manager. He agreed (in writing) to pay for the replacement of the unit. I then drove around the corner to the Chrysler dealer (literally one mile) and explained what happened. $374 for parts and install. Manager isn't thrilled but it is what it is. Needless to say, this is why I do my own oil changes.

Wow that really sucks! Another reason why I am very picky on who I get to do oil changes for me cause you just never know!

As for the antenna, now is a good time to ditch that corny looking antenna for a better one

I never liked the antennas on the 08 models and prefer the ones on the 05-07 models better.

Lol I don't really mind it. Better then one of those really long thin ones. Besides I don't think I have much choice in this one. I'll just be happy for it to be corrected. I knew I should have done it myself lol.

$374??? WOW!! I bought a carbon fiber and polished aluminum replacement mast for $10. They could have tapped that piece out of the base and just sold you a mast - oh wait, I forgot - it was the dealership, they only R & R parts, no actual mechanical abilities!

Took my VehiCROSS to a Firestone store for an oil change, and the grease jockey let it slip off the lift TWICE! Luckily it was just barely off the ground both times, but I was pissed!

At least he was nice enough to tell you that he broke it. A lot of places would have just let you go and wonder when it broke

Lol this is true. And I would have been irate had that happened. Like I said I wasn't to mad as long as they fixed it. But in all honesty I'm not so sure they would have been able to tap it out. Even before I told them Walmart was paying for it the first thing he said was "Oh we'll probably be able to just tap it out". After they looked at it they pretty much said that wasn't going to happen. They tried to figure out multiple routes to save me money. Lol, I grew tired of waiting and wasting my day off and just blurted out that Walmart would be fronting the bill.
