Endning of my story at the dealer, and does anyone else have this in there C????

Well this is kind of the end to my previous story (WTF is there Problem, They got some Nerve.) and i just wanted to let everyone know my update and I also wanted to know if anyone else has this.
Well I went to the dealer to pick up my car finally and they said I had to bring it back one last time on Monday because they scratched my bumper and they schduled me for a pint job with the body shop.
Other than that, i have a question.

When I picked up my car, i noticed that they flashed my Mini Comp on the odometer. I then noticed that it now has a menu to control the navigation and the bluetooth option through the steering wheel controls.

Does anyone else have this?

Woah woah, CONTROL the bluetooth? Or just see if the phone is active and signal and battery? Can you actually activate the dial or call function with it?

I have the ability to control the NAV and see the UConnect (Bluetooth), but not interact with UConnect.

Hold down on the music note and the compass buttons on the wheel for about 10 seconds... Then flip through the screens with up and down till you get to a screen with a serial number, a date and a version listed like "V3.61" or such a number. Can you tell us what version number you have and what the date is for it?

What are you guys referring to when you say "control" the NAV with the steering wheel controls? I am not sure I see this in my EVIC.

Can you explain better please? And please let us know what VERSION you are seeing in youe EVIC now NautcaSprt6!!

What he means by controling the Nav system from the evic is, if you press the menu button until you see the navigation option, it should say > Menu. If you press your > button it will bring up the menu on the nav system and you can choose things in there from your steering wheel controls.. I use it mainly to cancel guidance or if I'm on the phone and someone asks how long before I'm home...

Hmmmm... I checked mine on the way home tonite, and I DON'T see any navigation options, menu, or anything in my EVIC.

I have other things in my EVIC...but NOTHING which refers to the NAV unit nor do I see any way to control it.

Sure would like to see those pics of this and get those version numbers.

I hope no one minds, I took the liberty of snapping some photos and posting them. I believe this is what your looking for. I hope the photos look OK, this is my first attempt uploading photos on this board.

A couple of more photos, these are related to UCONNECT info available on the EVIC display. I only found these 2 displays and I think that's it.


The third photo is of the NAV screen, the pictures a bit blurry. At the lower right hand side next to the clock display, there is a symbol of a steering wheel. Soon as you enter the NAV menu via the steering wheel controls the symbol appears.

Hi Joe,
yes i have the same screens in the EVIC in my 2006. What I don't have is the Smart Beam activation menu in my EVIC. It appears that early 2006 cars have the hardware installed, but not te software to make it work.
