Exclamation Wait time

To all who received their ordered 300's:

Please list how many weeks it took from ordered date to delivery. Maybe this thread could help people who ordered to plan things out better.

The past is the past. DCX is so far behind 99% of the orders in BG or BX status will take 16 weeks to get. DCX is running 90days just to produce D status orders. Called DCX this morning and that's what I was told. Unless your dealer has allocation and most don't expect a 16 week lead time. That's if they don't have issues in parts or unfor seen problems. DCX expected approx. 30% of the 300 to have the Hemi, it stands at 47% with current orders. The dealers even have shortage on the lot at least in So. Cal.

delivery time at "D" Status

I called DCX today, gave them my VIN and said it was in "D" status ("Firm schedule - dealer has allocation and all parts are available"). The customer service rep said it had a build date of 10/15, then 2 or 3 days to be built and QC'd then onto the truck/rail with another 5 days delivery to Kansas City. He said I should have the car no later than the end of October. If this turns out to be true, I ordered it on August 9th, that would make it almost 12 weeks.

What do you think the odds are that I will get it by the end of this month?

I had to turn in my leased Volvo S80. The Chrysler dealer I ordered my 300C from is loaning me a '04 Dodge Stratus free of charge until it comes in. So I am not in a big rush. It's a company car, so I am wondering if my controller would mind if I spend the $750.00 I'm saving the company in a lease payment on myself by padding the old expense account?

You really need to get to D1 before you can start to believe anyone's forecast. I was stuck in D status for over a month. I went to D on July 6 and got my car August 26. It took me a total of 13 weeks to get my car.
Not trying to dash any hopes. Just trying to keep things in perspective.

All total it took 16 weeks for me to receive my cool vanilla 300C. All options but NAV. I ordered from a small rural dealer that has had only one other 300C and that was for the premier night back in May. I ordered on June 7. Once my order hit D1 it went fairly quickly. I called DC and they told me it had shipped and I asked for the train company and box car number. Mine was on Union Pacific and I was able to track it all the way to Denver. That was kind of fun. Once it was unloaded from the train it was only another three days until delivered to the dealer. It can be frustrating to wait but keep reading this forum and learn alot about the car. It helped me once I took delivery. I felt like I knew as much as the dealer that gave me the run down on the car. I can say as many others have that the car is definitely worth the wait. I have only had the car for five days and I still can't stop smiling!

bos447,

Thank you for explaining your delivery experience. You're right, reading this forum is definately making the waiting time go by faster. I should be an "expert" on the 300C by the time it arrives.

I also ordered a cool vanilla C. I don't know what it is about that color. I have never owned or wanted to own a white car. For whatever reason, the white on the 300C just looks great!

Since the company I work for is leasing the car for me, I had to keep the options list short. Hopefully with the low number of options, sunroof and adjustable pedals, the car won't get hung up waiting for parts. I have really fallen in love with the adjustable pedals on my wife's Suburban. I am 6' tall with a bad back. On long trips I adjust the seat the pedals and the steering wheel to different positions during the trip to keep my back from aching too much. With the power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, adjustable pedals and power seats, if you can't get comfortable in this car........
