Self-Sealing Tires Work!

Have had my C for 2 weeks and last Friday found a flat tire after a road trip. Took the tire for repair and there was a large nail in the tire and the hole was so large that the tire cannot be repaired and is being replaced this week. The reapir man told me that but for the self-sealing tire he believes that I would have had a blowout or most certainly been stuck on the side of the road. The self-sealing tire allowed me to keep driving. Now I am really glad that my C came with these tires

I had three screws in one of my tires, and never lost air pressure. My husband popped the screws out, and have not had a single issue since. Wonderful technology. I 'm glad the tires kept you safe from a blow-out Reese.

Whats the cost of thes buggers? They cant be cheap. Is there a warranty for this type of loss or are you eating the entire expense?

The cost for replacement was $175. I have sent the documentation to Continental for reimbursement and hope that it will be covered

Tire rack has them for $131, I have these self seals too and I have a vexing problem with steering wheel kickback on bumpy pavement. In the "too many bumps and bounces" thread the conclusion is the self seal tires as those that have regular Contis are not having this kick back. What say you guys with your self seals, any steering wheel kickback on bumpy pavement?

i have self seals and i haven't noticed any kickback, i dont think. i am torn tho i do like the idea of not worrying about punctures, BUT i do believe regular summer performance tires (i live in atlanta) would make me happier.
