Unhappy Won't Start

Just purchased my 300C 4 weeks ago as a gift to myself for completing my Phd. After the third week, the car would not start. I contacted the dealer and had the car towed. After keeping the car for three days, they gave it back to me citing operator error. A week later the car would not start again. After having the car for now four days, they tell me they have no clue what is going on. I wish Chysler would just buy this thing back. They have me driving a Jeep Liberty. Did I mention that I was 6ft 3in (290).

I also informed them that ater miss-starts the cylinders make a grinding noise upon trying to re-start the engine. This is grossly embarassing. Somebody help me! I spent 40K for this car and I am embarrased to tell my neighbors whats really going on. I have stopped two of my friends from buying the car until I am convinced these issues are resolvable.

Had a similar issue yesterday, car wouldn't start for a few attempts, then finally did when I applied some throttle during start (which you shouldn't have to do). Hasn't happened since, but still not 100% confident that the "bug" is out.

It appears that you are experiancing one of the two problems that I am having. I do have the random episodes of not being able to start the vehicle as you described. Additionlly, when advancing the starter after having a failing start, the cyclinders make a loud grinding noise. However, my current concern is that something is draining that HUGE battery in the trunk. This occurs after driving the car and letting it sit for about 2hrs.

Unhappy Update

After leaving the car for the second time with my local dealer for (5) days, I was told that nothing is wrong with the car and to come pick it up. My attorney informed me that if this occurs the (3) time, that I can take legal action. I really hope Chrysler does the right thing and make this wrong a right!

Angry Update

The car stalled again. It appears that with the lights in the (A) Automatic setting, they come on at random when the vehicle is off. GO figure. I want the problem resolved or another car! Why did I have to play technition and figure this problem out.

sounds like your C has the "Christine" syndrome. I think it may be caused by a bad Body Control Module. This was a problem with several 300Ms as experienced by members of the 300M Enthusiasts Club. Hopefully all the bugs will be worked out before I buy the 300C in a year or so.

Well, they took my word that the sensor needs replacing and they have ordered a new one. However, considering that I am not a certified anything, I hope this fix the problem.

Sounds like you have gremlins...Fight for the new car! incidentally, is it a really early example flintstone? Mine stalled one time...started right back up, never happened again. Congrats on the Phd.
