That is a real shame, how is it that the Japanese are so good at building cars. I have no complaints with my C built on June 1, in fact I love it. I am really ticked that these Bozos only discovered this problem by field testing on guys like you. This taints the car's reputation and eventually re sale value.

The right pull problem is not unique to the 300/300c/Magnum.
See the end of this video of a 2002 Intrepid with the same problem.

I took delivery on April 9th so mine was an early build. I only had two problems with over 6,000 miles. The clock lost a minute a day and the dash had a bubble in it above the speedo on the top. I will take the car in soon to fix these. Oh yes got a recall on the bvattery yesterday so in she goes.

Gang,

The Japanese have their problems also. I have a new Nissan 350Z that is just eating front tires and mine is not the only one. I have 23K on the car and so far my dealer has replaced the fronts three times. As far as field testing on us, its done every day by these guys. I'm sure the test cars did not have the problem with the front end. But when the cars went into production something manufacturing is doing is causing the problems. But it was then to late to halt the cars from going out to us. So now it looks Nissan and Chrysler are junk dealers. They are not, its the day to day production people that has caused the problem. Now Chrysler has to find what is causing our problem in the building of our cars and correct it. In the mean time people like the above and me get pissed because we spent 30K + and didn't get what we paid for or so it seems. Patience people, patience.

Good points, I turned in My RX8 to Mazda under thier buyback program last October. It was a low HP issue that prompted the buyback program but I returned mine because of a faulty (dangerous) steering issue. Paying full sticker as I did with the RX8 does not help when there are problems. Ones tolerance level is much lower for snafu (situation normal all fouled up).

Sorry if this has been asked before, but for those experiencing the drifting problem, does the car ever track left? That is even if the road is crowned to the left, does the car still pull right? I think I am experienceing crown sensitivity...and I cannot find a really flat road in my area to test on. I do know for a road that crowns to the left, my car pulls left. When it crowns right the car tracks right. I know most roads are crowned right so I do find myself keeping the wheel steady more often that not. Just trying to figure this out.

He told me that we would count seconds from a predetermined point, and see how long before we were curbed. It took about 4, and he told me "most people don't complain if it's under 6" As soon as the road straightened out, I performed my test, seeing if it stays between the lines on a straight road, and it failed. I commented on how easy service must be when people have low expectations.

I'm not pissed about the drift, really, because it's pretty minor, more like a mis-alignment caused by a good curb jolt than anything else. I'm pissed because I told them to fix this ahead of time, was assured that it was fixed, and that it isn't. I'm pissed because my concerns, when realized to be founded, were met with "spec" and other people's tolerance for problems.

They have the car Tuesday. If they call me back assuring me that the drift is gone before performing simple, but thorough tests themselves, I'm keeping the car, but there will, indeed, be some nasty phone calls. Getting this thing fixed at another dealer in another state is something I can (and will need to) get done, but it's not a prospect I look forward to. The good thing about my job, though, is that I have all day every day to spend finding the right people to bitch at, and extensive experience doing so. Honestly, I'd rather just get my car right.
Good for you. DC and its dealers MUST realize that if the customer isn't pleased, their sales and reputations suffer.

First, get an appointment with the General Manager of that dealership. If you are not satisfied thereafter, go quickly to the DC Regional managent for your zone (contact info is in yor owner's manual). YOU will get help. And you will help others because that dealer will get an "education".

I have read of only one person who admitted to a left drift. But it is possible.

Regarding a level road, the middle lane of a multi-lane interstate road should be relatively level.

The left lane of such roads IS crowned left (maybe that accounts for the popularity of that lane for all drivers who stay out there without good reason). ;^((

Mine pulls left if the road is crowned that way. Crosswinds also have an effect. A little sensitive perhaps but well within the realms of normality. Ah, yes, steering with some feedback!

Fascinating, I had a similar experience with my 87 300E that three dealers proclaimed nothing wrong. I took it to a private shop and they found bad ball joints, problem cured. You have to wonder about dealer service.
