Thumbs up Just took delivery

I had decided on the car I wanted - a silver 300C with zero options, except possibly the protection package. So few around here I was resigned to waiting six months to a year to get it (did not want to special order). Drove to a nearby small town and guess what was sitting on the lot (the only 300 of any kind)? A silver Hemi with no options. Salesman gave me the usual song and dance of low supply/high demand and said there would be a "dealer addendum" of $1800 to the sticker. I made it clear I would walk if the conversation continued in this direction. Then he backtracked and said nothing off of sticker price. Since I consider the car a bargain anyway at $32,995, I asked about the financing rebate. He checked and verified I could get $1000 off if I financed through Chrysler. That was good enough for me, only possible obstacle was the interest rate, which came back at 3.9. Done deal. [p] The car drives like a dream, especially on the interstate. Ride is just a bit taut, as it should be - this ain't no Caddy. Reflection of the dash in the windshield bothered me, but only because I was heading into the sun, and because they had lathered a bottle of Armorall on it. The wife complains anytime I punch it, a sign of pure power. Can't wait to take it on a trip. The reports on the other thread of 25mpg on the hwy are encouraging. Wonder if high gas prices will affect sales of the Hemi? In the 70's, when gas hit an all time high, it only look a couple of years before dealers were sitting on anything with power and roller skates were the rage. Comments?

I should have mine late next week and after some miles I am hoping for the high 20s when not punching it. Many cars beat the epa figures (except hybrids). My dads town car gets 29 at a steady 65mph. 25 from the hemi is good but no better than a GTO or Vette without MDS or 5spd autos. I am optimistic for 28-30 with the cruise on 65-70. None of us will do that for any length of time other than to say "it gets XXmpg on the highway!"

Hey, Silver...I lucked into an on the lot no options "C" car, too. That's all I needed and wanted. I was able to wiggle $500 of the sticker and get the $1,000 financing rebate, so I think I got a GREAT deal. I was the first delivery in my area and the only to pay less than sticker I bet... For a car on the lot. What luck!
