You all are lucky to have gotten your cars back so quick!! When I took my car in for leaking trans fluid they took 2 whole days to fix it. I was not happy about it.

Another victim of the tranny leak here, but mine turned out to be a good thing.

I was changing the oil on my Montero on Sunday and when I went to move the 300, I noticed a small puddle on the ground. Nothing big, about 2". I touched the fluid and yup, it was red. Damn it! I called the dealer on Monday and brought it in on Tuesday. Tuesday afternoon I get a call from the service department saying that it wouldn't be ready til Wednesday. Fine, I figured they just didn't have any o-rings in stock.

Today I pick up the car and I'm reading the service tag.

CUSTOMER STATES VEHICLE IS LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID, CHECK AND ADVISE.

REPLACED 13-WAY CONNECTOR SEALS; TOPPED OFF FLUID LEVEL W/ 2 QTS TYPE 4 ATF

EVIDENT: DTC'S STORED IN TCM-P0730 INCORRECT GEAR RATIO
P0731 GEAR RATIO ERROR 1ST. TRANS FLUID HAS BURNT ODOR. REC'MND TEAR DOWN INSPECTION
TEAR DOWN INSPECTION VERIFIES K1 & b1 CLUTCHES GLAZED FROM OVERHEATING CONDITION
POSSIBLE RESULT OF OPERATING W/ LOW FLUID LEVEL
RESEARCH W /STARSCAN TOOL INDICATES PCM & TCM UPDATES AVAILABLE
REC'MND REPAIR TRANS AS NEC. ; REC'MND PERFORM PCM & TCM UPDATES
RECONDITIONED TRANSMISSION
REPLACED K1 & K2 CLUTCH COMPONENTS; RECONDITIONED VALVE BODY
DISASSEMBLED & FLUSHED VALVES/PISTONS; REPLACED TRANS FILTER
FLUSHED TRANS COOLER-9PSI; ADDED 8 QTS TYPE 4 ATF
PERFORMED PCM UPDATE: PT #5030232AD TO #5030232AF
PERFORMED TCM UPDATE: PT #4692392AF TO #4692392AK

WTF!! I had no idea this was going on with my car. Luckily the leak started or I may not have known until it was too late. The car felt fine to me. Is there a way to check the fluid level ourselves? I'm pretty good about checking these things on my cars and bikes but the cap is sealed on our cars. Do I have to take it to the dealer whenever I want to check the tranny fluid? Oh well, no harm, no foul. All covered under warranty too.

Oh, I wasn't complaining. In fact, just the opposite. I'm very appreciative that the tech took the extra step and looked into the problem furthur. With all the issues that some have had with their dealers, I've had very good luck with mine. I had a Dodge Ram Quad-Cab before the 300 and they've always taken good care of me.

Seriously, sorry everyone is having this issue. I’ve not noticed any problems, is it happening to all 300 trim levels?
These leaks are not limited to the 300. My cousin had the same problem in his R/T Charger before he got his 300CSRT8. I think the same problem happened to a 3.5 magnum also.

My car did it with about 5k miles but i did not have a big puddle. From what i can tell it was a couple of drops. That also was the only time that i could tell it leaked since in was in my driveway.

Is it leaking again? or do you mean you never had it fixed the first time?

Reason I ask is that we are all being told by our dealers that the new o rings are 'updated' and won't do this again - - so I'm just curious if this is the second time for you. I hope this isn't going to be an annual thing.
