headlamp washers

Have a '05C with nozzles for what appear to be headlight washers. I think this is a "feature". They do not work with the main windhsield washers etc. Is there a secret that I do not know of?? Another, separate fluid container to fill?? I keep forgetting to mention to the dealer but figure someone on the forum would have a quicker answer.

I just got these on our new Heritage Edition. Haven't really checked out their function, but... my understanding is that they work only about every 4th time the window washers are used (not counting the brief poke of the stem to activate a single wipe). Since there are no wipers on the headlamp covers the main function of these sprayers is to rinse road grime (particularly in winter) from the lamp covers. Hope that helps. There should be some info in the owners manual about their purpose and functionality. Have to admit I haven't read that part yet myself.

In love with my first wife and first car ('68 Charger) ... still have the wife, but now there's the Heritage Edition and a Magnum SRT8!

Yes, they don't work everytime you use the washers. I believe it's every 4th time. It's possible the lights may need to be on as well. Check your owners manual for details. Also it's the same reservoir as for the windshield washers.

The headlights need to be on and then they work every three or four times you hit the windshield washers. There isn't a seperate reservoir.

Its in the secret book of mystery, usually wrapped in cellophane, and still sitting unopened in the glove box.

I think they're pointless unless you drive through a heard of bumble bees.

I think you meant 'swarm'. But, I also don't believe they are all that helpful unless you live in some dirty, dusty area.

Thanks to all for the input. Guess one has to be a clean windshield fanatic (which I am not) to see them work!

BTW...I did unwrap that cellophaned book in glove box and..at least where I looked...found nothing on the subject.

Actually you are both wrong, because Bumble bee's live in such small colonies (about 60 to 70) they never swarm or herd. Damn, I must be bored...
