Nav Zoom Joystick Broke!

The navigation joystick zoom broke! It won't zoom in or out. I have and
mp3 cd in my dash and have been scroling using the joystick by turning it. Then 2 days ago I was zooming in on my navigation and it didn't click anymore, just turns smooth now! Is it that sensitive! Let me know if anyone else has had this problem before.

It's a common problem. There is a replacement that is supposed to be more durable. Assuming that you are still under warranty, don't worry about it.

My local dealer said they have to exchange the navigation with a refurbished unit. I would rather keep my unit and simply have the joystick replaced. Any suggestions?

This is a common problem and some have fix this themselves. Here's a link to some additional info on a do it yourself replacement knob:

Navigation Help

I know your unit is under warranty, but this may save some time and let you keep your unit as you suggested.

Some have also received brand new Nav units under warranty fixes. No idea what determine if you get a refurbished or new unit. Maybe the availablity of in stock refurbished goe first.

But this offers another route for you.
