talk about ripoff...

the stealer i go to - typing from their waiting room on free internet...just change their "Customer for Life" Program. they gave all their customers oil changes for $9.95 for life. today i go to the dealer to have a door handle replaced and they inform that that the program has changed. They now charge $38.95 for oil chngea on non-hemi vehicles and $79.95 for hemi vehicles. I asked them if he was mistaken and that is a SRT price. He said no, all Hemi's. I told him he just lost a customer for life.

On another note he did say with this new program they do wave a wand over the motor and now you don't need to chnage the oil for 5,000 miles instead of the 3,000 before AND they now included free Road Side assistance so after 60,000 miles of sluge building up they will have you towed to their stealership for a new motor. WHAT A JOKE.

so far in Raleigh, NC i have dealt with 2 dealers, O'Neal and Leith Chrysler. I will not do business with O'Neal at any cost and Leith goes and pulls this crap. I might have to try a Dodge Dealer to service my 300C.

I bought my Magnum from SouthernStates Dodge in Raleigh and my charger from Hendrick Dodge in Cary/Apex (Cary auto mall). I have not heard anything about the Chrysler dealer in the auto mall.
I did not deal with SouthernStates but Hendrick has been pretty good to me.
(I'm not that demanding though.)

I'll change your oil for a 6-pack of beer + materials. Synthetic oil and filter will run you around $38.

Actually it's no joke. Read your manual.

Mr Happy, Id look into that. Just 7 qts of decent oil and a Mopar filter at his cost should be more than that, I think.

I think for $26, you get this oil

It's not synthetic, but it's 5w20... and I was wrong, it was $25... Penzoil oil and filter I think. Either way, $80 for an oil change is insane.

Thanks for the offer. I will change my own oil since i always have. I only let the dealer do it since it was $9.95 + tax $11 bucks out the door. We could still get together for the six pack.

I am driving up for to Englishtown, NJ for the LX fun May 20th. Have you thought about going?

you do NOT under any circumstance want to use Pennzoil unless you like your engine packed with sludge; if you think I'm crazy and this is simply a myth then you have never taken apart an engine that has run Pennzoil consistently.

A Pennzoil filter is not made by Pennzoil; it's slightly better than a Fram but not much. As with many "name brand" filters they are made by several manufacturers and Pennzoil's name is simply put on them. I've seen what's inside and if you cut one open you'll agree they are not something you want to use on a car you are trying to take care of properly.

i just got my oil changed today. i purchased the Amsoil 5W20 synthetic and the Amsoil filter from one of the supporting vendors on the LXforums. total for all that was like $66 and i have a friend who owns a shop so he changed the oil and rotated my tires for me. this is the second time i have used the Amsoil synthetic and i am very happy with it. i also purchased one of those filter mags to go on the oil filter to collect metal shavings that can go back into the engine.
