Park Assist w/o audible warning

I noticed today that I am not getting a audible warning tone from the Park Assist. I can see the warning lights, but no tone. I went through my Personal Settings and see that Park Assist is turned on, but I didn't see any option to enable/disable the tone.

My wife's expo has a warning sound that has proved itself useful. I'd like it working on my 300 as well.

Did I miss a setting or something?

The tone only comes on when you are close enough to something that the indicator lights have turned red.

Well OK! I guess I'm going to have to let something get within 3 feet of my rear bumper to test this out.

I felt the same way at first. My wife's Navigator beeps faster as you get closer. But the longer I use the 300's I like it better. You can look at the lights in the rear view mirror and don't have to hear the annoying beep.

Does the park assist come only with the 300C? Does the touring/limited have it, or is it an option?

It is part of "Protection Group II," a $840 option that also gives you self-sealing tires and side curtain air bags.

Protection group 2 is only available in the 300c. Protection group is only offered on the base, touring and limited. It included self sealing tires, side air bags and air filtering.
