300C memory seats

I've search this topic before I posted but I didn't really get the information that I needed. So sorry if this is a repost.

My friend just got a 300C and it has 2 settings for memory seats. Whenever you kill the car the seat and the steering wheel goes back to its default position. He would like to keep it at one setting until you change it. Everytime you turn the car on and off it has to reset and you have to wait on it. Is there a way to reprogram or turn off the default setting?

He would like for it to stay at 1 setting and then change it whenever someone else drives it. Thanks!

That is a design function. The movement of the steering wheel and seat is to make it easier to get out of the car (particularly for those who are short and positioned closer to the dash. If your friend wants to restore the position have him try pressing his key fob each time he approaches the car. Assuming the dealer "keyed" his fob to the memory position (anyone can do this his/herself by reading the manual for the instructions on how to do so).

I know that when my wife (5'4") unlocks either car with her key... the seats go to her position. If I'm the driver (6'4") but I don't use my key as I approach the already opened car, then I have to wait for the seat to change when I press the door position button. But if I press unlock on my fob before I get to the door, then the seat moves back to my position and away we go.

Should be in the personal settings. The owner's manual covers it.

Yup. And you can program (supposedly) a different key for a diff. memory position, but that doesn't seem to work for me.

teahead... following the manual procedure your's doesn't "learn" your key? I asked the dealer to do it for us several times with the '05 blue, but they never did. Then when I read it in the Heritage's manual, I was able to do it myself for both cars.

Err Goofy?

Our car moves the seat when you turn the car on/off, for the most part anyway. When I stick the key in the ignition, then it moves the wheel (and sometimes the seat) - vs doing it when you unlock the car.

Funky.

Go into the EVIC settings, seat glide on exit can be toggled on and off.
