Steering wheel vibration after adding new wheels/tires

Hi All,

I just recently added new wheels/tires to my C. The wheels and tires are the same size as the stockers. I got the ASA AR1 wheel with the Good Year comfortreads 225/60R 18 tires. At highway speeds, I get a slight vibration on the steering wheel that I did not get with the stockers. I had the front tires rebalanced today and the vibration is still there. I haven't checked PSI in the tires because I currently can't find my guage (yes I know, stupid). Could the PSI being off cause this vibration? I thought the balancing was off but that doesn't seem to be the problem. I'll be checking the PSI tomorrow, I am hoping that is the problem. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks
John

Just wondering if you had the lug bolt clips removed before putting on the new wheels. Some have experienced your exact symptoms due to this.

No, I do not believe the clips were removed when the tires were installed. Does anyone have pics of what should be removed or is it obvious? I will take a look at this when I check my pressure. Thanks for the response.

They are obvious, they hold the brake disks in place. There are two on each wheel on two opposite wheel studs. A screw driver and a pair of needle nose pliers do the trick to remove them.
