Front End Shake

Had my tires rotated at the dealer, during a service, and I noticed a front end shake when I was doing highway speeds. So I got my tires rebalanced (at another shop since my dealer couldnt do it for some reason). While I was there, the mechanic told/showed me that my drivers rear tire was scalloped a bit, and said it is most likely from a loose part up front (since that tire was just rotated fron the front). A week later and I still have the shimmy. (Steering wheel shaking a bit). Anyone else have a problem like this and what did it turn out to be? Ill have the dealer look at the front end since I still have that warranty.

Just wondering if there were any known problems with our front ends. Thanks in advance!

Loose part up front.. pffft...It's those crappy Conti's.

Do a search on "conti" or "continental" or "tires" and you'll find a plethora of less than enthused owners.

Don't let the dealer BS you that it's a mechanical problem. Problems with these tires are well documented:

Conti early wear out...warranty...replacements

And ye wonder why at about 10k I'll probably be forking up what.. $600-800 on new tires? Ouch.

What's a set of goodyear F1s run in the 300c's size?

I replaced mine with GY Assurance at 5800 miles even though they had lots of tread left. My wife was constantly complaining about the rough ride and i finally got tired of hearing it.
