Back & Forth Sunroof?

I can't figure out this one? When you open the sunroof all the way back (one touch) I go to close it and it goes forward for a second and then goes back, I'll hit the button again and it'll do the same thing, I'll hit the button a third time and I'll have to hold the button down the entire time to close it? Sometimes it'll work fine both ways (one touch)? Has anyone had this problem? Thanks for your time!

yea mine does it also. I think it has the function where it won't shut if something is obstructing its way (to prevent from closing on hands, fingers etc...) it may be sensing something that will cause it to do that...mine does it but i just hold the button down to make it close. Like you said it only occurs every now and then

During colder weather, I had a similar problem but with trying to close the pop-up portion of the sunroof rather than up and back. The window would get almost all the way down only to pop back open again. It was frustrating but this issue hasn't presented itself lately so I forgot to mention it while at the dealership.

I have the same problem with my sunroof. Its confused and will now not close properly without manually inching it up a little. I am going to take it in this week for that and my oil problem. ugh.

It doesnt actually see anything, the computer reads the current draw of the motor. When cold it could drag a little, and the computer will see that as an obstruction. Sometimes they just need to be re-calibrated, sometimes they need parts replaced or there could just be something in the tracks.

Tracks probably need to be greased... dirty grease or hard grease from a cold winter will cause that... had it happen on my Impala

mine has done it VERY rarely since the 2nd or 3rd week i got it. As others have said, i think the sunroof, and the windows too, are really sensitive. My driver side window acts up sometimes and won't do any auto-up, but will go down every time. i'll turn the car off and it will work again...

no clue what causes the computer to get confused or whatever though?

later, Dan

there is a flash for the sunroof module. take your cars to the dealer and tell them what the sunroof is doing and tell them there is a flash for the sunroof module if they say they can't find anything wrong.
