Knockin when stoping, accelerating, turning left.

I took my car to the dealer because I kept hearing some knocking while accelerating, stoping, and turning left. I would also hear it while going over bumps sometimes. To me it sounded like it was suspension related.

So, I took the car in to the dealer and guess what the problem was...... the 22" wheels..... I said rrrrrrriiiiiiigggggghhhttttt.... "I dont think so". I was so pissed. They said my wheels where hiting the suspension arm. I told them there was NO WAY, because if that was true you would hear a constant scratching. They stood behind their answer.

Here is what I did. I went home, slaped on the stock wheels and took it back. I went straight to a manager and said "lets go for a ride". He totaly agreed it was not the 22's. While the service advisor was writing in the the claim a tech was standing next to his desk and asked what was the problem. I said the front of the car was making a knocking sound..... First thing that comes out of his mouth was... "Oh, those are the 22"s hitting the arm". I said " realy? the stock wheels hit the arm too?" I just felt like knocking him out right there.

Anywayz. They found what the problem was. "Aftermarket exhaust".... they "fixed" it, test drove it and it was still there.

Finaly after 3 days at the dealer they found that BOTH motor mounts where broken. That is the weirdest thing I have heard on a ONE year old car. Now Im just waiting for the parts. We'll see if they are right this time. I guess ill find out next week.

Has anybody had any problems with their MOTOR MOUNTS?

Sorry for so long. I just had to vent out. The Stealership have a bunch of lazy, dumb techs that agrevate me.

Incompetent dealer. Hard to find good/qualified service these days. Hopefully the dealer got it right this time.

Well, to make things worse. At the same time I gave them the TSB to the sagy ass since they could not find a resolution themselves. And the bastards scratched my bumper on both sides by the lights and crack my "Chrome" on top of the bumper. I was pissed and talked to the general manager there at the service department. I dont think they want to fix it but they better. He told me to see him next week since it was already late on friday. We'll see what happens.

I had a similar problem. Only it didn't happen as I accelerated. It made the noise while driving over irregular terrain. I took itthe dealer and the changed a tie rod. The noise was still there! I took it back and they checked the struts and finally they told me that the Rack & Pinion has to be replaced. The part is on Back order from Detroit, at least that's what the manager at the dealer said. Have them che the R & P befor mounting the motor mounts.

And the funny thing is, the know-it-all exec's at DCX say that the DaimlerChrysler UAW employees (like me) and the job we do is why customers have griefs with our products.. I think this thread explains nicely who is f*cking the customers.. the DEALERSHIPS that you're handing out 5 star ratings to like hotcakes are the problem... you should earn 5 Star status, not buy it....

And just to add the back order thing.. parts do get shipped from the national depots, with the main national depot being in CenterLine MI.. when for some reason the regional is out of a part, the dealers then order direct from the Nationals.. so the parts guy is not BS-ing you on that.. Also if you're buying any Mopar Performance Parts, those are all shipped from National Depots and usually take 2-4 days to get depending on your location and what National its coming out of depending on availability.....
