service problems, and questions

Ok, i've been having an ongoing problem with service departments in the new york area. I got my car at a star chrysler in queens village, I had an issue with the air bag warning light (passenger side, common proble according to these boards). I brought it in, the guy yelled at me about not putting stuff in the front seat it messes up the censors. I told him I'll put a bag of bricks on the seat if I want, it is a seat afterall and I own it. He then put a big explanation on my receipt saying if the sensor problem happens again it isn't covered by warranty. He made the mistake of giving me the receipt (which i still have). I explained to him that the receipt says that chrysler doesn't warranty their airbags he said let me fix the receipt, i walk out call chrysler. I got nowhere with chrysler on the phone, they just told me to never go back there (this wasa 5 star service center).

Round 2 i have a premium package with my 300 which entitles me to oil changes every 3 months. I go to the 5 towns chrysler, and I've been in for 3 oil changes. First time I waited 2 hours, second time 2:15 minutes. I just went for my 3rd oil change, I waited 3 and a half hours. The only reason they gave me my car was because i stood in front of the counter staring at the two guys sitting there making them feel uncomfortable, and I kept going intot he service area yelling on my cell phone.

At 5 towns chrysler I had my car taken there because I had a flat tire, it took them 3 days to fix the flat tire (160 bucks as well), when I got in the car I tested the windows. Back driver window doesn't work (another common problem), I say wtf to the guy and I have to wait another 48 hours to have my windows fixed. Meantime I am without a car, I just want to choke these guys.

What can I do as far as my oil changes go, i have paid for the premium package so I have to use it. Can I demand a free rental car instead of sitting in the dealership for 3+ hours every time. Or should I just be obnoxious and harass the staff there until they finish my car? Is there someplace I can complain, I am seriously considering selling the car and getting another brand because of these service problems. Please help!

Have you spoken with the dealership's General Manager or owner? If so, try the BBB.

brutal that sounds pretty bad, here in Calgary my dealership service is very good, when my father serviced his truck there he still needed one for his work so they let him drive a dodge ram for the day.

I think you should relieve a little stress on the manager, that should do the trick

Can i send the bbb a copy of my receipt for the airbags, it plainly states that the ocs warning system and airbag sensors are not warranty related and I would be charged. The car was 2 months old at the time, stilll under lemon law. I would just like to get revenge on these guys somehow, but going completely over their head. Maybe if i send the invoice to a news station. it really does state they don't honor ny state lemon law, and chrysler doesn't warranty their airbag system.

At the first dealership yes (airbag incident). All he did was offer me a free alarm system and try to obtain the receipt from me. I of course told him to shove it and didn't give him the receipt back. He was obviously worried about the wording on the receipt.

"CUST STATES PASS AIR BAG LITE STAYING ON
REPROGRAM OCS
NOTICE! CUSTOMER ADVISED TO READ OWNER'S MANUAL REGARDING OPERATION OF OSC SYSTEM TO AVOID FALSE TRIGGERING OF INDICATOR LAMP. FUTURE REPROGRAMMING WILL BE CUSTOMER PAID. NOT WARRANTY RELATED. GOOD WILL ONE TIME ONLY"

That is an exact quote from the receipt. He actually told me that my girlfriend couldn't sit in the passenger seat because it might screw up the sensor, i kept telling him to go to hell but he kept getting madder at me telling him no.

I think you should definitly hold onto the receipt, make a copy, and send it out

If you have a 2005 car, you get a free rental under the Premium Care Plan.
I would get the rental, assuming it isn't a long wait or hassle to get the rental car.

Your signature doesn't say what year your car is. If your 300C is a 2005 model you are entitled to a free loaner car whenever you take it in for service (warranty repairs OR scheduled maintenance) - - the only exception is collision repair - - for 3 years / 36,000 miles.

This does not apply to 2006 models.
