Is something wrong?

How can I tell if my Rack and Pin is going? What signs are evident as the rack and pin starting to go. I "feel" something in the steering wheel but I wrote it off as the new tires are finally wearing in and I feel alot more of the road, especially on 24"s

From what I remember with my Intrepid ES, there was a slight scraping sound when you turned the steering wheel. Often this would be noticeable only for the first minute or so, then seemed to work itself out.

Generally, if you feel there is tightness, or for that matter excessive looseness when you turn the steering wheel, the r&p or the ps pump needs to be checked.
