Little Help on order status

If you read the bramptonassembly.com forum, you will see that they did ask for volunteers to work the second week of shutdown. Looks like some will and some won't. It also looks like they are calling back laid off workers for those two weeks. My guess is there will be some production during those two weeks. I would prefer if my car was not started until after the shutdown since there may be a learning curve for these rehires to climb.

I HAVE ALREADY PUT MY DOWN PAYMENT ON MY 300 I HAVE A VIN#. THE DEALER TOLD ME IT WOULD BE 3 WEEKS TILL I GET MY CAR. IT WAS A CAR THAT WAS SLATED TO BE DELIVERED TO THIS DEALERSHIP, IT WASN'T A SPECIAL ORDER. I HAVE CALLED CHRYSLER 2 TIMES THIS WEEK AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS IN D1 STATUS BUT BOTH TIMES I WAS GIVEN DIFFRENT DATES OF WHEN THE CAR SHOULD BE FINISHED. THE FIRST TIME I WAS TOLD JULY 16 THE 2ND TIME THEY SAID IT SHOULD BE 10 DAYS FROM THE TIME IT ORIGINALLY WENT INTO D1 STATUS WHICH WAS JUNE 25. THE 2ND TIME THEY ALSO SAID EXPECT 4-6 WEEKS FOR DELIVERY TO THE DEALER. DAMN I CANT WAIT TO GET MY 300 ALREADY. I WAS NOT FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO GET THE HEMI, JUST CANT AFFORD IT. HOPEFULLY BY NEXT TUESDAY I CAN GET AN UPDATED STATUS ON MY VEHICLE. IF ANYONE KNOWS THE TRUE DELIVERY TIME FROM THE FACTORY TO SOUTH FLORIDA THAT WOULD BE GREAT.

When the DaimlerChrysler Extranet was still accessible it looked to me that it took around 4 weeks to get from D1 to dealer. I figure 1 week to build, 3 weeks intransit to get to dealer. Just my observation.

I ordered my 300 last week. When should I get a VON? My dealer said that he didn't have one. Even this week, he couldn't give it to me. Any help appreciated. Thanks!

I was given a VON before I left the dealer the same day I ordered it. I did have to wait ~2 months for a VIN.

I am no expert, but it is my belief that if your dealer can't give you a VON then they have not placed your order with Chrysler. Or possibly they are waiting for an order confirmation from Chrysler with the VON. Maybe the Brampton shut-down this week is the problem. Not sure if Brampton assigns the VON or some other division of Chrysler.
Ask your dealer to explain the ordering process and when a VON will be given to him.

I ordered my car through an Internet broker, Carsdirect.com, and I got concerned that my order may not be quickly placed since the car was actually being ordered through a local dealer, via the broker. The day after I ordered the car through the broker, I got the phone number of the local dealer and they faxed me a copy of the order confirmation which showed the VON and order date the same day.
