Horn Problem?

My horn isn't working properly, it sounds like it's weak? I really can't explain it. Could it be a battery problem? I have a big sound system in it but I have 2 extra Optima yellow top's in it, so I don't think it would be a battery problem? Anyone have any idea's?

Might just be the soundproofing in the C. I installed airhorns and can hardly hear them from inside the car. But, from outside, I am told they are very loud.

Try this: Place a *****cat on your hood. Hit the horn. See how high the cat jumps . . .

or

just roll down the window and see how it sounds.

And before you ask, no - it's not my cat.

I don't have a cat. Don't really care much for them. My dog likes them, though. Great exercise for him.

300C ON 22'S:

Did it just happen or has it always been that way? Have you tried substituting another similar horn?

It just happened. I'm going into the dealer for a oil change, I kinda don't want to tell them because I think they'll just blame the sound system?

Low voltage caused by sound system current draw, would not overstress the horn and cause it to fail, though it might turn down it's volume. On the reverse side a much higher voltage might kill it.

Sounds like a warrantyable failed horn component issue - just try pulling the fuse to your s. system to see if it's affect the horn in any way that I can't visualize.

If the dealer give you bull let us know and we'll try to help you further.

Zilla
