Sun Roof Weather Strip

Just had some weather strip come loose on the rear of the sun roof. about 4 inches became pinched out of the sun roof after one of the closings. When re-openning the sun roof, the 4 inch portion ripped loose. After looking into the cavity the remainder is partially loose. Under normal conditions it is glued (yes I said glued) across some brace near the rear of the sliding arms. About the width of the window. It doesn't appear to do any real functional water sealing.

Anyway, time for an oil change (4000KM) and will report it to the dealer. I expect their solution will be just to remove the entire strip.

. . . but, of course, they will not have the replacement strip in stock and will have to order it. I am serious; I am still waiting.

Just picked it up from service ... lucky they had it in stock or simply fabricated a replacement from some longer strip in stock. The material looks the same.

Truth is it appears totally useless ... simply a dust / visual protection for the roof cavity.
