Help! Violent Shakes & Check Engine Light!

The other day I was driving on side roads. Coming to a stop, I noticed the car shaking pretty hard. It wasn't the road nor your typical Hemi idle. So I went onto the highway, and it started to do it again. I thought the enngine was going to die in the middle of the road! The check engine light came on. It was blinking and beeping, and finally stayed on. I had Roadside Assistance tow it to Chrysler. I have just recently had the tune-up and oil changed (New Spark Plugs etc.). They removed the spark plugs and cleaned them. Supposedly they had debris or carbon on them. Got the car back tonight and everything was good for the first 40 miles. HAPPENED AGAIN! After I turned the car off and restarted it, no more check engine light. I drove it around for an hour, couldn't get it to do it again. I'm at 35,650 miles! Go figure.

I do have the MAXCARE extended warranty also, so I'm not that worried. Also I noticed that the oil pressure goes from 15 PSI, up to 50 PSI when driving. Is that normal? I guess I'll take it in again. I should have roadside assistance pick it up again on their tab.

Water in the gas tank...or bad gas? Have you recently changed where you purchase your fuel? If the check engine light came on, it probably through a code, check this thread to see if it did and what it refers to.

Interesting. Right before this, I had taken the car in for a check engine light without the shaking. They had told me my gas cap was loose. I had also found that my gas cap was loose on the fillup before that. I wonder if someone has put something in my gas tank??!!!

They might be taking your gas and replacing with something.

Huh? Maybe, because my fuel level was the same. I remember looking at it because it was on full.

We'll see what the dealer comes up with. I don't want to suggest something and have it void my warranty coverage on this particular problem. If someone were to take my gas, why in the world would they put something in it to replace it. My building has a 24 hour security guard in the lobby who can pretty much see all of the parking lot at night.

Nothing found by the dealer yet. They said they had to call the Chrysler Tech's. I asked them if they checked the fuel system.

Mine did the same...turned out to be the valve springs broken of cyl 7 and 8....but mine would not run at low rpm....it would die.

Changed under warranty

Well, found nothing . Got it back and hasn't done it again. maybe it was left over residue from when they cleaned the spark plugs when it happened dramatically at first.

Now I'll take it back for the squeeking coming from the backseat over bumps. By the way, 200 miles till 36k.

I was siphoned once with my 300 and now i have a locking gas cap which to my surprise actually stopped siphoning... They filled my gas tank up with water (thank God i noticed that something was wrong before i started or moved my car.) I just felt like somthing was wrong almost like a sexth sense. My car does talk to me thank God for our ESP (extra sensory perception lol)
