Leaking oil from the Breather hose to Intake...

Hey guys thought I would post this and see if anyone has heard of this. I talked to a member that said he heard of this problem, and the next week the motor was blown...

I have owned the SRTC for 4 months, and I have had minimal or no problems at all really. I took the car in last week or 10 days ago for a routine oil change. Next day I see some small amounts of oil on the garage floor. Didnt think too much, techs are messy some times. Well I didnt drive the car for 3 days or so back it up and now there is more oil! I called the dealer took it in, and they put it up on the rack checked the plug, and the filter both are dry. Then he comes to me and asks me in a crappy tone "do you drive your car hard?" I answer no, I am averaging 18 MPG right now, and to tell you the truth there are times I get on it, but I am not a knucklehead speeding around expecially with the photo radar. He says there is oil leaking from the breather hose where it connects to the air intake (I have a Airaid intake, HF cats, and GSM Spacers only mods). He says these cars even driven with a half of there potential are going to leak oil. He said these things with an accusing attitude and that PISSED me off. I was very calm said nothing, he still has the car...

Problem I have is this. First I havent changed the way I drive. I owned a C before and it never leaked. My wifes car I drive it doesnt leak oil... This car I have had for 4 months and its ironically now leaking because of the way I drive even though it only started leaking after you changed my oil?

HMMMMM... I am hoping some of you will chime in. I am expecting a call to see what they say. I am thinking that something besides my driving is causing this. Believe me I drive my car smartly and probably SLOWER than 90% of SRT owners...

He called just now. Said he asked the other techs, and they told him this is common, and its becuase of filling the oil too high, and too fast. Apparently he also took back the ****ty comments about my driving caused this.

I told him I drove my other C the same, wifes car the same, and this car for 4 months without issue... I was happy to hear he says its fixed. Guess I will have to bring it here, park it and check in the morning.

By the way, yes it was in Scottsdale AZ at Airpark

Glad you got it resolved!! It was either that, or they spilled or something. I hope that you can find another shop,,, that one would give me a bit of hesitaion before I would think of going back.

Leaks if you drive it at 50% potential.. LOL
