Jsut mad.

Let me start with this.
I owned and operated a car stereo shop for 7 years. We never once chinced on quality when it came to someones car. We treated these cars as if they were our own. If not, then I fired you; simple as that.

So I purchased my machine about 4 weeks ago now. I had them figure in the Nav during the deal. No problem. Unplug the old crap, plug in the new crap on a new bezel. I can live with that. Now comes the other items I wanted on this SRT Design. Backup assist and auto start. Now we go to the dealership last Monday Oct 22nd. "You should be able to pick it up in 2 days." No biggie, they even got me a rental. That was cool.

So I get a call to 'come pick it up'. So I show up and I see my rear end just hanging there without any pins holding it on. WTF?! So then I look in and see this god awfule puck hanging in the rear panel. This I guess is the audible and visual portion of the backup assist stuff. Uh ... SURE DIDNT LIKE THAT! ITs not what I was thinking we were getting installed. Ok so now I'm a tad pist off over the rear end not being put back together. Worse now seeing the puck. Then I notice all the grease prints from the techs hands. Now Im getting pist even more, dude says to me, 'sure it wasnt like that when you got here?'. I think he was kidding, but no he was serious. DIE!

K now. I got the service manager out there to look at the car with me. He said also and I quote, "WHAT THE F*&%!!". K now I know he is on my side, I used to install 10 disc changers back in the day for his used cars. So like I know the guy and stuff. Nice. He fixed everything I asked for and I got the car back on Friday the 26th. I looked over the stuff we talked about and knew was jacked up. I let them know at that time, "If I find anything a miss I will return"; they said "no problem". So Saturday the 27th is what I will call 'polish day'. This is the day I get to polish my machine inside out now that is has the new toys. SO I wash it with Dawn to remove the guck. Claybar it. Wash it with Z7 to get the wahtever is left off. And ploish the crap outa my baby for 11 hours. Now its time I clean up the engine area. So I pop the hood and there I find all the autostart wires ust laying over the back of the engine. No loom. No at least high temp tape. Not even a stitch of crap black tape. WOW NICE TECHS AT THIS SERVICE CENTER! Now I follow the lines back to the firewall where the factory wires should be and there I find the rubber groumet pulled away from the firewall and the autostart wires are crammed between the firewall and the groumet. Can we say fire? o0 Now, I call right away in disgust and get them on the phone and Im sorry folks but I lost my cookies.

Should I just go to another dealer?
Should I call Chrysler?
Should I give them at least a chance to put this s*&^ back together the way it should be?

Help guys, I'm ready to kill someone.

What a horrible mess you had to experience on your new SRT Design. Was this by any chance a 5-Star Dealership? After all the time and hard work you put into making your vehicle beautiful, I would NOT put it back into the hands of that grimy dealership.

Find another Dodge or Chrysler Dealership in the surrounding Modesto area that takes pride in their work and attention to details. Maybe someone from your area can jump in here and recommend a dealership. There's lots of NorCalLX Club members here.

I would hold the current dealership liable for any damages or repairs that might be charged to you by a different dealership for their labor.

Good luck with everything.

Sorry to hear about your experiences with your dealer. The good thing is you know the service manager. That's a big plus and if I were you I'd give him a chance to make it right. Maybe suggest a few free oil changes or whatever for your inconvience.

Here's my delema, and there's no way I want to have a similar experience as you. I'm in the process of ordering a 2008 Jeep GC SRT8. The Kicker system is not available till probably Feb 08. I don't want the base BA6 system either.

After the last SRT Chat Session I had all the part numbers for the 11 speaker high performance Kicker system. My plan was to go ahead and order the Jeep and have the dealer install the Kicker parts. On Friday I learned no one has ever done this at the dealer, even though I was told it's a plug & play deal. They told me all the panels would have to be removed. That's when the giant red flags came up. No experience, removing all panels, $2800 plus labour, no extended warranty on Mopar parts and who knows what the end result would be.

Bottom line is I'm back to waiting for the OEM option to be available. I just don't trust the dealer install on any of this stuff and I can only imagine the same wiring nightmare as you have now. Good luck on your resolution. I can tell how pissed you are too and I'd be the same, maybe more!

For me it was a no brainer at the time. What could go wrong right? 5 star outfit, I've done work for them along time ago. Some of the same people are still there. I just didnt see the unseen of crap craftsmanship. If he didnt know how to do it then find out. If he didnt know what to with it then find out. It really hurts to no end. Today I took the car back again and met with one of the owners, the finance dude, the service guy and they all asked what would it take to make you happy here? I said a new car from the factory with the options I want already on it. Of course we know that wont happen but at least I'll be happy about it. They have until Tuesday to make things right or I have to start making phone calls to Chrysler.

Just look at that one pic alone. Its worth 1000 plus words of hell and disgust.
Right now I'm pushing for my money back, replace the lower steering coloum console, replace the side molding, wrap the wires in split loom, run all that thru the groumet thats there already. JUST TAKE SOME PRIDE IN YOUR WORK! If not, call up Chrysler and get me the car I wanted with the crap I wanted. Even if it takes redoing the deal.

You didn't inspect everything they potentially touched the first time you found "issues?"

I would go back to the Service Mngr, the one you know and was "on your side" and show him, again, specifically the underhood stuff. Give him the chance to get his service guys to make it right. Then, by gosh, inspect the whole thing again, with him, from stem to stern before you accept it from their hands.

Ask him if that was the kind of service he got on his car, would he come back... he should understand that. Then ask him where else, besides his less than stellar shop, he would recommend you that take your beauty for all future service.

IF they fix it to your satisfaction, and you have (or can build) a "trust" relationship with the Service Mngr, then continue to bring your car there... but also bring incentives (donuts, beverages) and stay to watch how/what they do to ensure they know you are an enthusiast. My guess is that service, at least for you, will improve significantly.

I did sit down in his office today and we had a chat of sorts. Talked about his kids and stuff, you know the normal bull. He did admit that maybe he should of had another tech on it that was more geared for stuff like this. The tech he had on it is more of a tranny, engine type of guy. He is more than happy to right the ship sort of speak at this time. He does understand that this has NOT been a fun ride. Just trying to maintain my lip when Im standing there is very hard. Yelling and swearing will get you nowhere fast so I bit my lip. He did say that he values my return to continue to right the ship. He also stated that I "Lie your ass off on the survey!". As it is looking right now I will indeed wait and see how this goes. They understand Im not happy and I must say are taking the extra effort to make sure I leave with a smile. As far as the donuts and such, thats a great idea. Maybe I will give a little too.

Ok got my baby back today after taking about 30 minutes to look over the car very carefully. Did not find one thing a miss. Job well done. I took the advice above and purchased 24 donuts for the service writers and the techs in the shop. Big hit. After I signed off on the car everyone was very happy with me and I was very happy with them. It was the donuts I tell you. These guys went over every part of it with me and I couldnt ask anything else from these guys. At one point as you can see from above I was ready to call Chrysler and yip. I dont think it would do anything, but at least I could vent. Today when I got my baby back I ran the Zaino bath with Z7.
Then we did 4 coats of Z2 with Z6 in between coats. Pretty she is.

Thanks to these forums for at least taking the time to listen.
