Steeering wheel spring noise

In the morning or when the car is parked or just sometimes when I turn the wheel I hear a slight sound that sounds like a spring is being *****ed or you know that twang sound.

Anyone have something similar to this? Is there a TSB?

I did search and didn't find anything.. Maybe I need to mod my search function?

It is called the clock spring. It is what allows for steering controls and airbag without wires getting tangled. I would advise you get it fixed NOW. If the spring comes unsprung you will have to be towed.

I noticed the same thing on my pre-owned SRT the other day.
What is the fix? How to?

The clock spring will click as the wheel turns from inside the steering wheel. Take to dealer to get fixed (warranty).

The twang sound is from the break petal return spring under the dash, behind the steering wheel. Liberally lube said spring with white lithium grease.

I've dealt with both.

Mine does this as well, but only on the 1st startup of the day when I back it out of the garage onto the street. First wheel turn then nothing. Going to be next to impossible to get the dealer to "reproduce" the issue.

I am having something of the same thing going on - but there is no "twang" but more like a "weeet" "weeet" sound much worse in the morning. Almost like the steering wheel is rubbing against something in the same spot. So far no luck. Any ideas? Is it the "clock spring" and should I be worried?
