Bad, very wierd day - anyone else have a similar experience

2006 SRT8, 22.8K. Driving 80 on NJ Turnpike, raining. This morning's commute. Slowing down for tolls.

Get a ESP light. This has happened as a "false" several times when sitting still in drive so I'm annoyed but in the past it goes out when "reset" by turning car off/on.

Almost immediately ESP BAS lights. This has never happened before, nor has anything else discribed below.

Next ABS, Oil pressre, BRAKE, voltage, Malfunction indicator (no duh), and ETC light up. I slow and try to make it to lane next to emergency pullover. I don't make it as all gauges (speedo, tach, oil temp, digital display,) go to zero. Radio/Nav goes black. Engine is running, but now brake feel very ugly, like power brakes do when engine is off.

I'm down to a stop and limp through tolls with dead gauges, etc. Power to gauges returns, all warning lights still on, nav comes up.

I decide to RTB and get the thing to the dealer.

During the u turn drive (10 minutes) all warning lights go off other than ESP, ABS and malfunction. Then all come back on and the digital (EVIC) display squaks a chime and reads "PARK BRAKE ASSIST SERVICE" (a EVIC message I can't find in the manual?!).

Then gauges, etc. flat line, come up, flat line, etc. for about 5 mintues. When "power" comes back to gauges the panel has every warning ever mentioned in this note.

Then it stops and settles into a "better" state with only malfunction, ABS, ESP showing.

Then the guages stay on but I get a "all warnings" (with the chime and PARK ASSIST, etc.). This cycles intermittently between the "better" state and "all warnings" for 30 minutes, then settles into "better" mode for the remaining 30 minutes to the dealer (who can't look at it until tomorrow).

What is going on here!!!?

This has happened here before. Read this thread - http://www.300cforums.com/forums/srt...rk-assist.html.

In his case it was the front power distribution centre. Don't know if that's your problem or not, but it's worth passing this on to the tech.

Reading the thread my guess is the ABS sensor or Power Distribution Center as the discription of the car going "limp" seems to be a differentiating symptom.

Dealer says its all due to aftermarket lights!? I had fogs replaced with Xenon and have LED in brake and turn signals, and interior. No immediate issue with any of this when switched out so I suspect the strategy of "blame the customer" when they can't figure it out. I asked them to check the two problem areas that where identified in the related thread. I don't see anything in that thread suggesting aftermarket lights was the issue.
