While about 10 mins after driving my engine temp was warm so i turned the heat on and BAM!!! cold air. It was hot for like 1 mins then went cold. The ac button is not on. And stay on for a little bit. once the car cools down the light off. IT never comes on in during city driving, only highway

I'd suspect a faulty thermostat. There was a rash of that awhile back. While I never noticed a problem, when I replaced the stock t-stat with a 180*F unit this is what I found: a torn seal:
