Angry One more thing to remember or I'm screwed

I just got a mailer from Chrysler telling me that to keep my lifetime warranty valid I have to take my car in for a free service every 5 years. It has to be done within 60 days of the anniversary of the purchase of the vehicle or the warranty will be void. WTF? What if I forget? Can you imagine remembering a day late and they tell you to get stuffed.
This seems like a sneaky afterthought on Chrysler's end.

"Oops, we need to service your car so we don't get broke fixing it, but if you forget to bring it in on Saturday, July 29 at 2:47 your warranty is up. Sorry, Bud."

Seems a bit harsh, don't you think. I'm pretty sure I'll remember the first service date (maybe), but what about the second or third? Not that I'm planning to keep the car more than 5 years, but still. What if I was planning for this to be my last car ever?

Maybe it's just me acting like the 50 year old man I now am.

Write it somewhere in the car where you will always see it so that you don’t forget it. For e.g. somewhere near the door sill. As for me I have a sticker on the corner of the wind shield with the date and km of the next service.

Yes, that I will do. Thanks. And Jected, you are right. I really should not complain about it. What other manufacturer offers this warranty? It is so comprehensive. Covers practically everything that's attached to the engine.

the 3 year / 36,000 mile comprehensive warranty goes with the car, no matter how many owners it has during the warranty period.

The lifetime POWERTRAIN ONLY warranty is only available to the original owner.

You can bet that you'll get plenty of notices from Chrys. LLC about servicing.

Also, my guess is that they may be some future continued lifetime powertrain warranty continuance for Chrysler Certified Pre-owned vehicles. But for those purchased used from non-Chrys./Dodge dealers, they definitely will be out of luck.
