300C transmission problem

2005 300C 49,000 miles.New Orleans area.Have Chrysler extended warranty.
Last week I noticed a small spot of reddish fluid in the garage.
Brought it in to dealer to check that and have oil changed.
I have NEVER had any kind of transmission problem of any kind.
They called and said it was the seal on transmission plug, they replaced it.
They also ran diagnostic at my request, it had stalled once at a light.
They called and said they had code P0748-Modulator Pressure Solonoid Circuit in transmission! That the part had to be replaced, the tranny would go into Limp mode. Today they called and said it was replaced, but that the transmission was still indicating/was going into limp mode-Not clear. They now say they have to replace the Transmission Control Module, wasn't clear if they recieved a new code, same code or if they're just guessing now.
Each module takes another day for the part to arrive from Memphis, one part at a time, meanwhile my rental coverage is just for 5 days max.
Do they know what they're doing?? Any similar experiences?? Again I've never had it go into Limp mode on me, nor have ever had any kind of tranny pblms.
A separate but related matter:
I spoke to the service manager indicating I was very upset blah, blah, blah. As the conversation proceeded he told me maybe I should pick it up and take it back where I had bought it!!! What!
Any suggesstions on how to kick that comment of his up the Chrysler 5-Star ladder???
Thanks for any comments, similar experiences, explanations, whatever.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Since they get paid to fix this, you would think they would be helpful.

On a side note (sorry if this seems a hijack), the guy I sold my 300C to has had a trasmission problem. No codes, just whiny noise. The dealer told him the transmission had WATER in it? Seems weird since it is supposed to be sealed. Dealership wanted to replace his entire transmission (not a problem since it was under the 7/70 powertrain warranty) but said they are on a 4-5 week backorder? So, they want to replace some small individual components instead. I recommended to the guy to let the dealership do this but to have them order the transmission and have them replace it when it arrives anyways.

Seems a bit strange to me.

You can go on the Chrysler website and tell them (in 500 words or less) what you think.
Won't do any good, but you can do it!

If you, or the guy you sold the 300C to, do a search for water in the tranny, you (singular or plural) will find it was a prevalent problem. Seems condensation runoff from the A/C would run down the tranny dipstick tube (or something) and get into the tranny! Believe or else.

Yes, that's exactly how the water was getting in, at the base of the fill tube. Symptoms were a shudder and it required flushing of the ATF. Here's the TSB - http://www.wkjeeps.com/misc/LX/TSB/TSB_2100604a.pdf.

Hey flt505, Sorry to hear your troubles as I'm in the same area and service is PATHETIC at best! I've taken my car to Bergeron Chrysler/Dodge twice once for low tranny fluid and they said it would take a week. A WEEK! Second time was a service engine light and it would take a week probably 2! Sorry I cant recommend a good service dealer but I would greatly appreciate you sending me a PM if you actually find one. I'm a firm MOPAR believer but there service(at least in this area) leaves a hell of a lot to be desired. I wish you the best of luck!

UPDATE: Fixed. Here's what they said. The wiring harness for the Modulator Pressure Solonoid Circuit gadget thing mounts or plugs into a "plate" on the housing. That plate had "rotated" some. They put it back in proper alignment and no more problems. Said maybe it was not making contact or shorting something. I'm paraphrasing. It's not that I don't believe them... call me Doubting Thomas, but I actually showed up in person this afternoon to check the status and Bingo, by the way it's ready. Are they scamming the warranty company? Did it actually have a problem or has it been sitting in the yard since day 1? If there is a more mechanically inclined clone out there I'd love to see a picture of where this Pressure Solonoid/Harness contraption plugs into a plate. A picture is worth a thousand words. Every Picture Tells a Story Don't It?

COMMENTARY:
I don’t want to get off on a rant here, but…
In reading the many posts on stalls and the transmission
I have to conclude that this monster is waaay too complicated.
What ever happened to the KISS principal?
Keep It Simple Stupid.
What’s wrong with having an iron stick with an 8-ball on one end
and mechanically (not electronically) connected to the transmission on the other end.
You move it in an “H” pattern with the aid of a clutch and it shifts.
No solenoids, no speed sensors, no pressure sensors, no “wiring harnesses”,
a hole at the top to add fluid, a hole at the bottom to drain fluid,
and no f------ computers!
Sincerely,
Ned Ludd
