My Question

So why does a car owner have to go through this "re-calibration"? Its not as if this car is a "DIY" car! Arrghh..It looks like you got to watch for every sound, hesitation, light etc... when do we get to enjoy the car without all these hassles?

jaydee

(Thant having been said, am going to do the MDS light mod this weekend)

Hey, at least we CAN recalibrate some stuff and not get stuck with the factory settings all designed (primarily) with cost effectiveness and economy considerations rather than actual performance.

Without a doubt it makes a huge difference. The throttle response is now instant, perhaps because of this the tranny does'nt seem to think for a split second or two.

Yep, weeks later and it still amazes me how that simple a process can make you feel like you are driving a new (different) car!!

Thanks jjs... I actually was doing some editing on the procedure to make it a bit more clear, to answer some of the ??'s that repeatedly crop up when this subject reappears, and then was going to post the procedure in FAQ as well, you beat me to the punch!

dipster, I absolutely agree with you on this one, but some time ago everyone decided there were too many stickys and I, being the newbie moderator have no idea what the guidelines are for making a thread a 'sticky' around here. I'll see what I can do for you.
