Auto Windows act wierd?

My auto windows act wierd sometimes.
Sometimes they won't go down (auto) without me holding the button but sometimes they do. Sometimes it's the driver's side that won't work and sometimes it's the passengers. Not really at the same time. Also, when I heit them up, sometimes the window goes halfway up then back down.

Wierd, huh?

Any clues?

Have a look at this TSB. It sounds like a fix for the problem you seem to be having and involves replacing the door modules.

my drivers side does the same thing, oddly enough its always when im getting gas, never at a drive thru or something like that, so im thinking it has to do something with the car being shut off and back on.

i just go thru the reset procedure, which is something like raise the window all the way manually (no one touch), then lower manually all the way, and then raise again. generally that works out. i havent acted on that TSB that rambit brought up tho.

Hmmmm...I really appreciate the input! I'm gonna print out that TSB and take it to a dealer and see where that takes me.

This has happened to me as well.
I put the window all the way up then press down and held it for about 3-5 seconds then immedialty pull up on the swithc and it should work.

This is exactly what to do most of time to fix this. I have learned the problem relates to "improper" holding down of the switch at some point in time which deprograms the auto up and/or auto down. reprogramming and being careful while using it in the future is usually all that is necessary. in a pertect world, the "unlearning" would not be accomplished so easily without your intending to do it.

Mine does that all the time, just have to do the reset procedure. Auto seat back and wheel up at exit do the same thing too, seem to have a mind of their own. Odd thing is all 3 never stop working at once, it is usually just one of the features. Of course complain to the dealer and they say everything is working fine so my guess is they pull a fuse or something to reset it.

What some of you guys are doing is simply performing the battery reconnect procedure. If this is a persistant problem like some of you are having, the TSB issue is more likely your problem and the modules are at fault.

Yeah, I'm calling the dealer on Monday. I did the reset and it's fine but I feel there might be a problem. I would never have thought I would have to "be more carefull" when pressing a window button. It's not like I punch it with my fist when I wanna open the window!

I just bought my 05 300c 3 weeks ago and all of a sudden I had this problem. My auto down worked but not my auto up on the drivers side window. I did a search and found this thread, I did the reset and sure enough it works now. Thanks, this site rocks.
