Check TPM System? What's that mean?

What's up gentlemen? Quick question...

This morning and last night a message popped up on my EVIC after driving for a period of approx. 15-20 minutes that read "Check TPM System". My tire pressure when checked on the EVIC was between 35 and 37 on all four tires and when I physically checked them they were about the same as the read out. Only problem I found was that I was missing a valve cap. I checked to see if I would pull any codes and a message popped up saying "Check Park Assist". The park assist message only popped up once and when I turned the key off and checked again, it was gone. No codes. Only code I pulled wa P 0128 but that's from my 180 thermostat and it being the coldest day of the year yesterday on LI (gotta pull fuse 11 to clear later). I don't wanna just clear the codes without consulting you guys for suggestions. I really hate taking this car to the dealer every week for new problems. I can't afford to give the car up anymore.

Thanks!!
AC

Do you have any aftermarket electronics in the car? ( I believe you do, but save me the time to look back at your mods). That sometimes interferes with the TPM system...

We'll start there....

Believe it or not, no, I don't have any electrical mods. No aftermarket stereo, speakers, nothing. I don't even have a Predator tune (been 2 months and I haven't seen my replacement unit from RPM yet!). The stock wheels have been on the car for the winter for about a month now also. I'm thinking maybe cuz yesterday with extremely cold?

I drove yesterday with no issues and I have a 177 t-stat. Your case is sounding more and more like a guys I read about over a year ago. He kept having electrical issues and eventual chrysler bought the car back. I really hope I'm 100% wrong though.

Dude, I hope so too. Everything is going wrong with my car. It's an everyday struggle. My Magnum was a dream. I take unbelieveable care of my cars, too.

I think it may be due to the cold. It hasn't happened since and I did alot of driving after work today. I also pulled fuse 11 to clear the thermostat code. Oh, and come to think of it, Will, the thermostat code only comes up when I don't warm up the car enough. I'm pretty sure that it's perfectly normal and nothing wrong with the car. Same thing happened a few times with my old Magnum.

Yea i dont think these cars like the cold. It was in the 20's yesterday here in FL and my TPM went off saying right front was low and displayed 24psi. I go no warning for the left front which was also at 24 psi. but i just added some air to all tires and it went away. even my power steering felt lik eit was about to seize up; it was really stiff. I just think these cars HATE the extreme cold.

That's interesting you mentioned you were missing a valve cap. The recommended procedure is to let some air out to force any water that may be in the valve and replace the air.

You also mentioned you were running between 35 and 37 psi on your OEM tires. The recommended pressure is 32 psi COLD. Of course with colder weather pressures drop. With that in mind I'd reduce it, but remember that's with cold tires. In other words don't drive more than one mile when checking your tires.

As a point of reference you will lose 1 psi (7 kPa ) for every 5° C drop in temperature.
