ck engine light code for t-stat or engine temp sensor

I was wondering if any of you had the check engine light come on and it read the code for : low coolant level
bad thermostat
engine temp sensor bad
My wife was driving home from work and it came on. I checked the coolant and it was fine. Should i replace the thermostat first or try and replace both it and the sensor? Thanks.

Do you happen to remember what the code was, or was it just a warning in your EVIC?

Do you have an aftermarket lower temp tstat? If not i'd take it in under warranty. If you are out of warranty I'd clear the code and keep my eye on her. Oh, and also post the code like Rambit said.

I've been doing some pliminary checking and see this condition may come up if idling for long periods in traffic for starters and if that turns out to be the case here it's a temporary thing with no fix needed. We still need more info though!

Actually, i just took it to the auto parts store for them to read, and the paper they gave me showed no code #, just what the pcm is telling the machine. Here is what the paper says:
"The pcm has determined that the input from the coolant temperature sensor indicates a temperature value that is below the thermostat regulating temperature".

Definition: coolant temperature is always low.
Explanation: The pcm verifies that the engine is at a proper operating temperature.
Probable causes: -check coolant level
-thermostat defective
-engine temperature sensor defective

That it. How can i erase the codes to see if it comes up again? BTW, the t-stat is stock. Thanks again!
