Unhappy Anybody have an accident that broke the driver seat?

On Christmas day I got rearended and the driver seat snapped throwing me into the right rear back seat...I don't think the seat should do that...I thought they were tested for collisions...The car was totalled...Not sure if I will replace it with the same car...It was a fully loaded 300C with Factory DVD, Nav, Sunroof and even had headlight washers

I don't think anyone has posted a busted seat before. Sounds like a faulty seat. Got any pics?

Sorry to hear about the accident and subsequent totalling of your 300c. As joey mentioned, I don't believe I have read of this seat issue. (I take it you are referring to the seatback 'snapping' as opposed to the whole seat sliding backward.) Regardless, that should not have happened.

I hope your insurance company makes it right for you and that you were not hurt. Let us know your final outcome.

Welcome to the forums!

How fast do you think the car that struck you was going?

When you say snapped, do you mean it literally broke in half? If you could explain in more detail that would be great. I'm interested to know exactly what happened, just out of curiosity.

I'm guessing this isn't regular, and that you had a fault seat; its still worrisome.

I've never been in a bad accident myself, but I know that it's a scary thought and something that I hope to never experience myself.
