Correct me if I'm wrong people!!

I've read enough of your posts to know that you know this, but that's . I'd have gone ballistic! Heck, I got mad just reading it! ...and on a brand new car? ...a 'Vette, no less? I suppose if the paint changed colors the first time you washed it, that wouldn't have been warrantied either. I mean, it's just cosmetic. Sheesh!

Of course it's BS! I was absolutely livid! I said to the rep "So basically I could have purchased a POS Cavalier and gotten perfect rims, and that's ok, but on the 50K+ Vette I have to live with this?" He respondes yep there was nothing he could do for me.

It really was pointless! On the positive side, I was/am good friends with the service manager and he was willing to take a new set of QF-5's off any Vette they had in stock. So one morning I went up and we walked around and looked at all the cars and they ALL had the same flaw! I was pretty much SOL and learned to live with it.

I also had two sets of seat skins (full skins) replaced in 16K miles, plus had the whole seat mechanism (rocking chair syndrome) replaced ($947.00 part, fortunately it was warrantied!)

My father all four of his chrome rims replaced on his 2002 Corvette because of pitting. It was under basic warranty. They CAN do it.

Chrome Piting

I am having the same problem with my OEM 18' wheels. However, my car was made in 2005, so I don't think my Gold Plus warranty will cover any of it...

I don't think so either. I've explored some aftermarket rims, but decided to wait until they look bad before I replace them. After all, it's only the lip, and the fronts look great. Unfortunate though.

I have a 2007 with the 18" chrome wheels, mine aren't pitting but on all 4 wheels where the wheel weight is attached they are discoloring. On all 4 wheels in the EXACT same spot the chrome almost looks burnt. I have tried polishing them, but its nothing on the surface, it's in the chrome itself.

I am taking them in tomorrow to have them looked at, I hope they replace them, it's looks like ****.

Go figure... Two years later and Chrysler still can't figure it out! Man, they burn through the warranty dollars on their cars... I give them three more years and they are GONE! BYE BYE CHRYSLER!

I'd say that was a good assessment for here anyway and it's getting just a tad old. It's called Ormand Syndrome.
