Lightbulb Low speed rattle / thump in front end

Forgive me if this subject has been covered before.

I have a 2006 300 SRT-8.

At low speeds (< 25 mph) , there is a noticeable thump or rattle coming
from the passenger side front of the car when I drive over washboard roads.

The noise is not noticeable at higher speeds.

It's been making this noise since I bought the car new. The car has never been in an accident and drives very well except for this thumping / rattling.

I am going back to the dealer tomorrow and would like to be armed with
any knowledge that the members can provide.

Has anyone experienced this and if so what was the cause ?

Thanks a lot !

Try pressing the brake lightly to see if the rattle/thumping stops.
If it stops, then it is probably a brake problem.
When you take it the dealer, take a technician for a ride to make sure they hear the noise. Otherwise there is high likelihood that you will be told "cannot duplicate customer complaint".

sounds like a tie rod. i bought mine new as well, but the sound only got worse over time, until i had both outer tie rods replaced under warranty last week.

if you have a floor jack, here's a way to test it yourself. jack the car up and support that corner of the vehicle on a jackstand. then with the wheel's lugnuts infront of you, put one hand at the 3 oclock position and one hand at the 9 oclock position and wiggle. if it moves a lot, you've got a steering problem. next, put one hand at the 12 oclock position and one at the six oclock position and do the same. if it wiggles when you do this, its most likely a suspension (strut/balljoint) problem, not steering.
